Eds or anyone for that matter, what do we think about Darwin Nunez?

From what i seen of him i honestly think he could be the next big thing.

Is there any interest from us or is it the usual. Real and Barca.

{Ed002's Note - Darwin Nunez (S) Benfica don't want to sell Nunez but they have had serious interest from several sides. Long term followers Manchester City enquired about Darwin Nunez again last summer were told he won't be available before the summer of 2022. He was not their preferred choice and they have signed one of their preferred choices now so they can be discounted. Borussia Dortmund were also keen on him as an option to replace Haaland when he leaves in the summer, but they have agreed a deal with their preferred choic. Bayern Munich could cash in on the last year of Lewandowski’s contract in the summer and look to a replacement – but they have several other options in mind. Milan have a sustained interest and tried to sign him before he moved to Benfica, but financial issues mean they will need to sell other assets as they have other players they wish to add as well - and he is the most expensive of their primary Ibrahimovich replacement targets – they can be discounted even under new ownership. Manchester United had a very high-end scout and ex-Premier League player look at him on several occasions on their behalf but would likely need to be in the Champions League to be considered - so it will be a hard sell for them, but I suspect they will push. Barcelona have enquired, knowing that signing their preferred option is difficult, but were told they would have to pay his full €150M release clause to sign him. They can be discounted. Inter want to replace Alexis Sanchez with Nunez but moving on Sanchez is a serious problem for them – he has no value and will want to see out his contract on his last major salary in Europe. Suarez will leave Atletico in the summer, and they might provide a viable solution – but they would not be able to pay his release clause and could only make something happen if Benfica would accept more than one player as part of the deal. Brighton, West Ham, Newcastle and Arsenal have shown an interest but are far from attractive options and most certainly a step back. Chelsea have scouted Nunez and he has been recommended by an ex-player who was approached to be the new Sporting Director - but it is unlikely the club will push unless Lukaku leaves permanently. Do not rule out a bid from PSG. Scouts from many other sides, including Roma and Spurs have been watching a number of Benfica players - including Nunez. I am not aware of approachfrom Liverpool, nor where he would fit in without a change of tactics. Benfica will look to achieve at least €80M.}

There’s videos of him going around showing how he can’t control a football. It’s like a clip of his worst bits. Quite funny. Goes to show what a YouTube video could do. I’ve only seen him play against us, no idea what he’s like on a consistent basis. I don’t know how you all have time to watch Portuguese football. I barely get time to watch English, and even that is only Liverpool games.

He is coveted though, usually tells you something about the player.

Hi Eds,

I know that you have mentioned about some of players that liverpool interested in? However, appreciate if you can share your summary once more about players that liverpool is approaching in now for sadio mane/ salah's replacement? Is it jarrod bowen/ raphinha/ sarr etc.? Thank you Ed and have a nice day.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of Liverpool approaching any of these players. You can probably forget Raphinha as he is in discussions about heading elsewhere. I would also discount Sarr who is also discussing moving elsewhere. Bowen may be possible but I am not sure if West Ham would sell - and there would be interest from elsewhere. Dembele remains liked by Klopp and he is versatile. Moussa Diaby seems very unlikely. Asensio is available as a Free Agent but interest appears to have waned. Paulo Dybala is looking to move elsewhere. Kingsley Coman can likely be forgotten. Serge Gnabry could be considered a good Salah replacement - but that won't be this summer. Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld might be a good addition - a right footed LW. Another side are pushing for Jeremy Doku. Martin Terrier and Jonathan David have been looked at. And of course the club has looked at a number of more central forwards like Hugo Ekitike.
