If I remember correctly Ed001 you called out Konate ages ago and I for one probably questioned your reasoning so to speak. Well today I want to apologise because Konate is terrible and he has been for a long time.
{Ed001's Note - ah that explains why you messaged me! He is brainless and could (should even) have been upgraded in the summer as a priority. Why does he always feel the need to attack the opponent when he could just clear the ball easily? He has regressed since we signed him. And Bazza you don't need to apologise, unless it involves sending me money ???}

{Ed001's Note - I passed them on to Seamus ages ago mate, sorry.}

Ed01, Konate is a "hands-on" defender who simply cannot defend without putting his hands on the oppo. attacker and grabbing him. It's like a plague for him. He has regressed indeed and it is sad to see. Did he think he was/ is better than he is? Maybe but that's on him.
{Ed001's Note - I was wondering if Palace had signed him the way he played today.}

Hi Barry mate - Konate's performance today was absolutely dreadful! Unfortunately, I could only watch the first half due to poor streaming quality and the match not being televised in the UK. In that first half alone, he was significantly worse than Quansah was when he came on as a substitute in the second half of our opening fixture against Ipswich last season. I suspect Slot opted against risking Gomez, given his shaky display against Southampton.
Now loads of Questions for ED01 :)
On Salah's playing time: What's your take on Salah never being substituted? Has he negotiated a clause in his new contract guaranteeing full matches? While I wouldn't want to drop him from the starting XI, surely he needs occasional rest. Could Ekitike operate on the right wing, or perhaps Chiesa?
What are your thoughts on Bradley's performances? And why do we consistently start matches so sluggishly?
{Ed001's Note - no one wants to take off Salah, because he is the one most likely to pop up and score after being awful for 89 minutes. He only tends to get subbed when we are winning because of that.
Bradley is just a bit brainless, he constantly makes the same run into traffic, no matter what, with no thought as to whether it is the right run. There was one point Wirtz got on the ball in the right hand channel and was running forward when Bradley just ran straight across in front of him into the space he was heading for, pulling all the defence across. That left Wirtz with nowhere to go, when there was plenty of space for Bradley to drift wide and offer an option for a pass. He just is not using his brain at all. And he is not good defensively, he has said he doesn't like defending and wants to be an attacking player, and he plays like it at times. He is not good enough to play further forward, if he wants to make it, then he has to accept it will be at right-back and work on being the best right-back possible. It is all about the mental side with him, if he can get his head right, he will be great, but right now he is all headless chicken running and not a lot else.
We start slowly to try and tease the opposition out. We play it slowly at the back and then play what could be considered hospital passes into central midfield to try and tempt challenges. The hope is that we just keep working the opposition and pulling them about, tiring them out. Then they are sloppy and make mistakes late in the game, allowing us to pick them apart and win games. It has worked well so far.}

He has been woeful so far this season. I wonder though if he was on whether he would have cleared / blocked their second goal.

Holding out hope Mo will pop up for a moment of magic is going to grate at some point.
For the amount we’re paying him, we need way more. More than Goals and assists to be honest. He isn’t a factor.

The frustrating thing about konate is that he just has to look at the injury room to see a 18yo who already knows the basics of defending but he doesn’t seem able to learn it.
