Hi Eds long time fan of the site first time poster just wanted to ask why such confidence in salah leaving in the summer I know he will be down to his last year of contract but at 32 I would see a new deal (2 or 3 years) a more realistic possibility than a PSG or Saudi move at this stage with still some resale value in the future? Thanks for all your time and dedication much appreciated.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool have not offered him a new contract and whilst the plans for Saudi Arabian clubs as far as recruitment goes is changing, Salah remains on Michael Emanalo's list and Salah's agent has continues to look for options after a deal was rejected last year over obscene wage demands to join Al-Ittihad. FSG are constantly courting the Saudi PIF who own Al-Ittihad. If there is a new deal to come from Liverpool, it needs to eb put on the table and agreed as a matter of urgency. Then he can stay.}

I don't think most Liverpool fans are thinking with their heads on this one. How many elite wingers can play into their mid-thirties at an elite level without compromising the team's style of play? Salah has been great this season but he will start fading away over the next couple of years. We've also seen him out for a couple of months with injury this season which we haven't seen before. It could be something that becomes more frequent as he gets older. If we get an offer of nine figures, we surely have to take it.

Ed002. Do you think Saudi will still invest heavily once again this summer in players from Europe?
Has it been the success they imagined etc attendances rising?

{Ed002's Note - They have a longer term plan to bring more Saudi players through and to look to lower profile players from Europe going forward. Emenalo has a shopping list with fewer very high profile and older additions on it. They have problems with the size of crowds but also have a plan to raise the profile of the games locally.}

Its time for salah tp leave. Lost some pace and he isn't getting any younger. Been immense immense ready to say goodbye. thanks And hopefully thsnks for the 100 millon.

Agreed Bab. The only thing I would say is that whilst Salahs numbers are great and he obviously starts for us, I think he is already affecting the teams style. His all round game is pretty bad. If I was offered anything over £70m I'd take it.

Agree with Westwood and I think the price will be under 100 million.

Think we'll get the 100m, and my head tells me people saying take the money are right. Will still be very strange not seeing the Egyptian king running down the wing.

Where would Salah go, realistically? His level is still too high to play the Saudi league if he retains any ambition of playing at elite level. He goes to Saudi if he wants lots more money. Otherwise, if La Liga clubs are discounted because of financial constraints and other targets, assuming he wants to continue at a decent level, it’s Bayern and PSG as I’d see it.

I think if it’s a Saudi club, we’d easily get £100m at least, Other than that £70m would be the most we’d get from a club in Europe, given his age. As long as we invest wisely in a suitable replacement then we’ll be fine, only problem is that there’s not a great deal out there.

He owes us nothings the man’s been nothing but amazing if not begrudge him a big money move if we got anything like 100m it would be amazing and reinvest it!

Agreed 6. There isn't a like for like out there but do we really need one? We have been fine without Salah on the team. Whilst a RW is required I think investing in a eventual replacement for VVD needs to take priority, then Alison after that.

Miten't need a like for like with Amorims system if he comes, maybe invest the money in a Wirtz/ Musiala (only examples) type kind of player because Trent/ Barkley would be on the right.

12.) 08 Apr 2024 08:50:20
The short term hit in getting rid of Salah could be a long term gain, we could get silly money for a player well into his thirties to invest in a younger replacement and also strengthen other position/ s, it seems a no brainer for me.

13.) 08 Apr 2024 14:58:56
Get that $ from egyptian king and invest in Samurai king Mitoma.

According to the site Salah leaves every window. How much have we made off selling him so often?
