Hi eds and fellow reds, I've visited this site for years now and often posted but haven't done for a while. I suppose today I am asking for you support more than anything. My mum is today having her second liver transplant in 6 days. Her body rejected the first and this her last chance salloon now. Is there any chance you could say a little prayer for her and have her in you thoughts today? It would be very much appreciated. From a fanatic red

{Ed002's Note - Ian, I truly hope that your mum gets through this tough time and I am certain that every member of this community will spare a thought for her, whether they pray to a god, call out Gauranga, venerate Vishnu, respect a higher being or chant Nam Myoho Renge Kyo. Our thoughts will be with your mother and your family. Please let us know how she gets on.}

Just now, after reading your post, I spent time with the healing angels asking them to visit your mother and to guide her soul while going through this.

Wembley78 I take your point that the league is tight and another slip up will see us out of the top four but every team is dropping points mate! United, spurs and chelsea a case in point! Also Rodgers can't always be blamed for conceeding at set pieces! The players have to take responsibility also! Johnson for instance, for lukaku's second he was brushed aside as though he wasnt there which left flanagan to try and mop up his mistake and to be fair to the young lad he tried his best! Now Rodgers, who is stood on the touchline can not control those variables! Take evra for instance at cardiff! got caught ball watching and the player who scored got a run on him! Moyes couldn't control that on the touchline, its a mistake! Communication I feel is lacking amongst the back four, there is no real leader, now rodgers mistake might have been made in the team selection! Maybe toure should have played instead!

Ian the red

ian the red

1.) Hi IAN THE RED, I think we'll hve to agree to disagree but if we keep
making the same mistakes after
spending 25m on centre-halves in
the summer + kolo toure then
fingers will be getting pointed at BR
whether people like it or not the buck
always stops at the manager,
also IAN do you know who the
defensive coaches are, under previous managers we knew who
they were, PAKO and patrice bergues
to name but 2.

2.) As far as I am aware wembley, mike marsh! he's first team coach along with rodgers. Its a good point you make that because there appears to be no out and out defensive coach! We could do worse than looking at carra for the defensive side of things, no better leader or organiser in my opinion!

Ian the red

3.) I think Sakho was starting to look much better and needs more game time. Agger and Sakho would be interesting. I think Skrtel wants dropping, his form has improved but he is too susceptible to basic mistakes, lax marking and poor organisation - I don't think he is the answer to our defensive woes.

4.) Why wasn't skrtel or anger marking lukaku? in the corner he scored, that is what bothered me. if either of them marked him and not johnson he would nt have scored

Hang on a minute the word! I take it your an arsenal fan? So in that case would that mean that when you lost to villa 3-1 at home you were leading the charge of the wenger out brigade? Short memory's football fans I tell you! I like arsenal, I enjoy watching them play and like the way they conduct themselves behind the scenes but I tell you the gooner brigade are getting a tad ahead of themselves at the minute! I remeber arsenal throwing away a 4-0 lead at st james park not too long ago, have some respect for them!

Harry, yes I did see the arsenal score today mate, they played the same team that we put 10 past home and away last season! Stop getting carried away! You keep saying we haven't played anybody, somehow excluding the fact that we played united at home and then heap praise on arsenal who have only played tottenham at home who were beaten at home to west ham prior to the internationals! And we will see where we are come xmas, and do you know what? Even if we are seventh, they will get the same support from me now than when we are top of the league because they are my team!

Ian the red

ian the red

1.) Well said Ian.

We all know a Harry down the pub, the type of guy that whinges for the sake of whinging. Reads the daily mail and is generally unhappy with everything that surrounds them but far too effing lazy to change anything.
Wouldn't let them worry you mate like attracts like and all that.

2.) Ian the red, good points well made lad

3.) Yeah nice one lad.totally agree

4.) Ian mate, I think it is obvious that we have made an improvement from last season. I for one am glad we have started picking up hard fought points.

5.) 20 Oct 2013 10:58:11
well said ian we can't all just moan about not getting 3 points every week there is not ateam in the league hasn't had a bad result r 2 so far this season and imo 70 points could be enough to get top 4 which I think we r capable of, so that in itself shows the improvement that has been made. However even brendan said when he took the job that it would take several windows to get us where we all want to be, so in the meantime let's be fans like ian who realize that support is just as important when we get to a dodgy couple of results as when your sitting top of the league, not looking at fixture lists and anticipating a bad time for our team.

6.) I think harry is a realist . yes newcastle defended, but they where easy to get in behind if lfc could be bothered trying and it certainly wasnt the seige of the allamo, on current form norwich are handfull for any team they played very well yesturday and gave chelsea a very tough game the other week as well, the differance is arsenal didn't play particularly well yesturday apart from the last 15-20 minutes when they just ripped it up, they are pure cream to watch, but lfc don't seem to have that ability in them, I just don't think lfc have the players to do it simples.

7.) 20 Oct 2013 11:53:12
The Word

all the above members believe, we would win the remaining 30 games. Some here believe west brom is another easy win.
If we beat arsenal away. I ll shave my head completely.

8.) Hey word
u seem pretty deluded.its the same arsenal team which struggled to get into the top four last season. u think arsenal are title challengers just because u bought oezil?news flash just like us u haven't played any top team bar spurs.wait till u play the big boys Chelsea, the mancs, Liverpool.i can guarantee u will lose some of those for Liverpool being not upto it we'll see come may, as far as i'm concerned we are as good as arsenal.we r 2 points behind your club and have not even played to potential yet.
oh and by the way, why don't u visit the arsenal page once in a while?is it a snooze fest?trolls I tell ya.

9.) 20 Oct 2013 11:56:40
The Word.

the only player who could have caused some problem was Countinho Injured, and the next closest is Alberto who is on bench.
arsenal if they loose ozil. they have Carzola. Walcott, Podolski. they have Terriffic team.
provided by wilshere behind, even Ramsy is on fire.
If we need to score, then sturridge and suarez has to drop deep to collect the ball and start attacking their own.
If someone man mark suarez, then its over.

10.) 20 Oct 2013 11:59:32
Ian the red.
UTD at home?. we also lost to them in the carling Cup.
Man UTD vs Liverpool match i'd decided by the venue.
simple. they loose at Anfield and we loose at OT.
and common. If anyone are certain to drop down from Top4, is UTD.

I just don't see how this is the case with the way we behaved prior to the embarrassing apology we made . Surely Southampton, like Fulham will stick to fingers up and tell us where to go?

Erik Morales would be a great profile to do. His trilogies with Barrera and Pacquiao were legendary.

Hi ed,

This is a very interesting topic you are debating. My dad has been going to anfield since the days of St. John and roger hunt! Went to Rome in 77 and has obviously seen the best to ever grace anfield! I was asking him the other day who he thought was the best player he had ever seen over the years and obviously I expected him to say kenny, Gerrard or Souness! However, he said he felt that Suarez was the greatest player he had ever seen! He said he's an absolute genius and the most naturally gifted footballer he'd ever seen! Would love to know your feelings on this!

ian the red

{Ed001's Note - on pure ability he would get the nod, but football is more than that. For starters his attitude stank, constantly fighting with the club to get a move off the pitch, constantly doing stupid things on the pitch. He could be a liability. That has to effect how he is judged.}

Sometimes ed it really does seem like you're trying to get a rise out of Liverpool fans! I understand that this site must be extremely tedious at times and your patience tried, but I feel there was little need for that comment! You do treat Liverpool fans slightly differently to other fans and you're dislike is becoming increasingly more apparent! I very rarely post, and I hope you don't see this as a personal attack as it isn't, but you must understand that most supporters don't have the knowledge of the game you possess and it appears you use that knowledge to make people look foolish and it's not fair! This isn't a go, merely an observation! Good day to you all

Ian the red.

ian the red

{Ed002's Note - I answered the question honestly. The club released some photographs of the inside of the new stand and it looks awful - which is what I said. Then there is the usual embarrassing nonsense bringing other clubs in to it. If the Liverpool fans are happy being in what looks like a detention centre (perhaps it makes them feel like home), then I really don't care. If people are not interested in an honest opinion, do dot ask questions. I have given more information about players on this page than I have on any other and you suggest that I "dislike" the Liverpool fans. There are other pages I give no information at all so perhaps it will be weasier if I went back to providing information to those pages and stoipped bothering here? You decide Ian.}.

I absolutely love Flannagan. He is strong in the tackle, good on the ball but for me his strongest attribute is his ability to press win the ball back in the oppositions half. If you think back to the united game at Old Trafford, the number of times he pinched the ball back in their half was ridiculous and it gives us the opportunity to get at the oppositions back four more regularly.
