Not football related but what boxing profile is next on the list Ed01 really enjoying reading them.

{Ed001's Note - Thomas Hearns will be next Squizza.}

Are you a big boxing fan ed mate?

{Ed001's Note - yes, though I don't watch it much these days, it is not the same any more.}

Really looking forward to the Thomas Hearns one Ed mate, nice one!

I thought it was, cheers mate. Really looking forward to that one!

{Ed001's Note - I am looking forward to it too, I can only vaguely remember him now so I could do with a refresher on him.}

I'll send you over 'Hit Man The Thomas Hearns Story' tomorrow at some point mate it's a great read and may help you a bit with your research.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate, you must have one hell of an ebook collection.}

Any chance of doing Steve Collins ed? I adored him growing up.

{Ed001's Note - he is on the list don't worry mate.}

Hearns v Duran
Hearns v Hagler

They don’t do fights like that anymore 🥊.

12 Jul 2018 21:08:14
Oh, please do the Fab Four! Hearns, Durán, Leonard and Hagler. Some of the best fights in the history of boxing. Never got to see them live, too young. Boxing is my 2nd love, Liverpool my first. I really missed out being too young in the 80s didn’t I?

{Ed001's Note - they are all on the list now mate.}

Salah, check out the four kings video, I've only Seen the trailer, but sugar, hagler, Hearns and Duran, can't go far wrong, golden age of middle weights.

Mayweather would never have a perfect record in that company!

{Ed001's Note - dunno, he could run very fast so he might have been able to run away until the final bell. We all know that is enough for Mayweather to get a win with all the judges in his pocket.}

If ever you get the chance mate search Jimmy Sweeney bkb into YouTube. He a brother of mine and is the world champion and face of the first legally sanctioned bare Knuckle boxing company in the UK. He's helped take the company mainstream and headlined the 02 indigo london and echo arena amongst others. It's not on a global scale yet but they have top professional fighters from around the world and is growing rapidly. The company is called ubbad bkb.

{Ed001's Note - I will look into that when I get a chance. It is actually safer than using gloves, as it is the repeated blows that cause the damage.}

Oh there's just tons of them on my computer mate, I'm yet to sort them out into categories but there's just too many so I get lazy with it. If there's anymore you want just let me know and I'll see if I've got it.

I still haven't had the chance to look up that book we talked about the other day but once I do I'll let you know if I find it.

{Ed001's Note - I read pretty much anything mate, I never know what I want to read until I actually see it. But if I do think of anything I will ask you la.}

That's right mate and it was a hotly contested point as the bbbofc fought to not have the sport legalized.

{Ed001's Note - the problem is that they are not very well versed in medical science. That is why gloves keep getting more stuffing and more fighters suffer because of it.}

Cheers Idontlooklikeklopp, I'll be sure to have a look at that mate later on tonight.

Erik Morales would be a great profile to do. His trilogies with Barrera and Pacquiao were legendary.

{Ed001's Note - I have added him to the list for you ian.}

They're more concerned with protecting the fighters hands with all the extra padding than dealing with the obvious head injury issue because of the sustained blows.

It's been a good chat thanks and I look forward to your daily review in the morning. Goodnight mate.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate take care.}

Ed001 — I’m trying to hunt down the video somewhere, can't find it yet.
This is NO knock on Tommy Hitman what-so-ever.
But he is part of one of the funniest knock-outs I’ve ever seen.
So about 20 years ago he had his “coming out of retirement” fight, if I’m correct, and believe he was definitely into his 40’s by this point. So the fight was held in his hometown of Detroit, low-budget fight to say the least.

Well they found this poor sap from South Carolina. This lads only accomplishment was placing 4th in a local Toughman Contest (nickname the Swamp Monster, I believe) .
The whole hometown crowd is hyped to see Tommy. you can see it’s getting rowdy.
Well the fight was pretty uneventful up until mid 1st round.
Hitman and the Swamp Monster lined up two haymakers, both connect at exact same time.
Double KO!
My friends and I had tears from laughter for quite awhile after that.
Anyway — I just had to share, as I don’t know anyone that recalls that.
Again — he was a stud and not posting to knock how great a fighter he was.

{Ed001's Note - I have never seen that, I know it happens, but I have never seen a double KO myself.}

Great fight ron. One of my all time favorite fights was 1982, Aaron Pryor/ Alexis arguello. What a great fight. I agree with Ed001, the sport is not the same.

Come on ed001.no double knock out ever? Rocky versus Apollo Creed the rematch. Rocky wins by getting up before the 10 count. Forget those midget fights with the Hitman, hagler and all. I want to see heavy weights who do absolutely no defensive tactics and throw haymakers like Rocky, Creed ivan Drago, etc. true legends.

{Ed001's Note - you know I have never seen that one.}

21.) 13 Jul 2018
13 Jul 2018 00:21:20
Petecolo, that wouldn’t count as a double knock out if someone got up before the 10 count. just saying.

13 Jul 2018 00:26:35
Not sure if we can post links Ed.
But I did find a video.
If anyone is interested just go to Youtube and search “Tommy Hearns vs Jay Snyder knockout”

It’s a little more anticlimactic than I remember.
Still rather funny though, as the Swamp Monster is out like a light, then shakes his head to the ref “No more! ” :D.

13 Jul 2018 00:42:07
Apologies btw. as it’s a Double-knockdown, not KO.
Tommy hops right up.
20 year memory’s a little fuzzy, Ed ;)

{Ed001's Note - it's ok mate, at your age it is to be expected, it will come to us all one day.}
