Eds as you mentioned that it's all in Soto's hands regarding VVD, do we have a second option for a CB or will we wait till January or even the next summer?

Southampton won't sell or to us anyway today IMO. I don't expect us to sign a centre back which will eventually haunt us. We've got shown no serious interest in anyone other centre backs. Just one who we illegally approached.

Sorry Al, not just singling you out. At least having illegally approached him, we are trying to follow through and not leaving Soton or the player in limbo. It'd be worse if we weren't at least trying to tidy up the situation somehow.

I don't think they want to do business with us mate. If Chelsea or arsenal for example offered 50 million they'd most likely accept. I see us possibly bidding close to 70 and it could be rejected.

This is it though, the users on this site would rather criticize the club incessantly than get behind them when they're actively trying to sign the player they've tapped up, right or not.
We're almost obligated to buy VVD now at any price because we've sabotaged his playing career at the least.

I think the (illegal) approaches to VVD have successfully put the club into a no win situation. Approach him to sign and get kicked for trying to manipulate the situation and potentially a complaint from Soton. Don't approach to sign him and get kicked for creating this situation and leaving player/ club in an unworkable state. Either way going to get kicked and there is now way out that is the "honourable" thing to do. so maybe this will teach people the lesson of going about things in a better way.

Hey eds, been reading that you still think 2 or 3 are still wanted in this window.
Now that we are two weeks away from it closing on us, do you think the negotiations are being ;
1. rushed?
2. kept behind closed doors entirely as opposed to the serial leaks that happen with lfc in general.
