Ed001, I've got a couple questions if you're around. Any idea what the plans are for Ryan McLaughlin? We have Clyne and Gomez now, as well as Flanno who will hopefully be fit in the next few months. Not to mention Wisdom out on loan and Alexander-Arnold showing promise. I thought I remember Brendan really liking McLaughlin at one point. Then he went on loan, to Barnsley I think, and he hasn't been anywhere near the first team recently from what I can tell.

Also, after Rossiter's league debut, who would you guess to be the next academy player or two to follow in his footsteps? Obviously you can't see into the future, but I'd enjoy the insight.

Thanks, appreciate the work!

{Ed001's Note - McLaughlin has struggled with injury for a while now, right now it looks like he will be going out on a loan or permanent deal. The problem is that his loans have not worked out for him, so there is little interest now.

Possibly Brannagan, or Chirivella, they are both close. Pepjin will be working with a group, which will probably solidify over the next month or two, giving us a good idea of who will be next.}

Eds, know anything about Ghoulam from St. Etienne? Echo saying we've reportedly entered negations. Don't know much about him, other than he plays on the left side. {Ed001's Note - not a thing, sorry.}

1.) RedRum7

I have seen him play a couple of times, and from what I saw he was decent, without being outstanding.

If what I saw of him was his normal level, then I would say his strengths are more in going forward (attacking) rather then defending, which in truth we probably need a defensive fullback more then an attacking one.

He appeared to be a decent passer of the ball, and does cross a nice ball, but again, but personally from what I've seen of him he might not have the physical presence to handle the Premiership.

But as I said, I have only seen him play on a couple of occasions, against average opposition, so my opinion can't be considered finite.

2.) Thanks the for reply. I'm hoping for the Cissokho deal personally. Defense, pace, and strength.

3.) He`s not all that. He can cross and pass very well and has a good touch going forward but defensively, we can do better.

Have there been any updates on Rossiter? I know he was hurt for a while, maybe he still is. But I haven't heard anything about him in many weeks, unless I missed an update. I know there are several players at the club that play the same position, and the formation usually only requires 2 players at that position. Not to mention we have Grujic coming in the summer. Does he still have a future under Klopp?

Ed001, if you're around, would you mind answering a couple of questions about some younger players? 1) Coady has gotten some time in the first couple of friendlies and is on the preseason tour, do you see him going on loan again or being sold? 2) Peterson was added to the USA tour squad, but does he have a realistic chance of cup games at least in the first team, or loaned out? 3) And lastly, McLaughlin, wasn't included on the USA tour, but Coates (who it seems would be on his way out) was included. I thought McLaughlin was someone Rodgers really likes? Same with Rossiter.

{Ed001's Note - 1. loan is more likely, we had offers to sell him but they were turned down. He might even get a chance to stay and play if he can shine in preseason.
2. right now it is most likely he will get a loan move.
3. Coates is there to get him in the shop window, as much as anything. McLaughlin is not there as he is set to be loaned out, or rather was, not sure if it has fallen through or not as I have heard nothing for a few days now. Last I heard a deal was close for him to move to a Championship club.}

1.) If Lucas is sold Ed, do you think that will increase Coadys chsnces? He's impressed me so far tthis preseason but I doubt whether he'll get the chance. If Lucas is sold and Coady is deemed not ready I'd be happy with a short term option to rotate with Gerrard. I was thinking Alonso. Rossiter couldn't do much better than learning the trade from Alonso and Gerrard. If nobody is signed and Coady not trusted, we have Can who can play there, but that wastes his ability going forward.

{Ed001's Note - yes it would give Coady more of a chance.}

With interest in players like Willian and Diego Costa last summer and Konoplyanka in January, could that have been attempts by Liverpool to hike up potential transfer fees should a premier league rival try to buy them? I understand there was what seemed to be genuine interest from Liverpool, especially with bid(s) being rejected, but were there ulterior motives?

I hope we are able to snatch up Maxime Lopez as he looks to be a big player for the future. Hopefully the reported interest does not spark increased interest from other clubs.

{Ed002's Note - Nope.}

1.) Seriously?

Hopefully we sign DM cover this summer, and though the 2 players may not be possibilities for us, who would you rather have if we were to sign either Schneiderlin or Medel? Would love to hear anyone's including the Eds' preferences also.

{Ed001's Note - either would be great, though I would personally prefer Medel, that is more because of his wages and price would be lower.}

1.) I'd love Medel, if Cardiff go down, do you think we could make a move?

{Ed002's Note - Maybe at best.}

How likely is El Shaarawy to move on this summer, especially if Milan fail to make champions league? I'm sure Liverpool has shown no interest, but he could be a good fit and he could provide competition on the wing. I get the feeling his wages would be too high though.

{Ed002's Note - There is certainly a chance he will move in the summer.}

1.) If we get CL and we want to start to bring in players of CL level then they will come with higher wages. El Shaarawy isn't on wages that Liverpool can't live with right now or wage he would want to come to LFC but if others come in for him and offer ridiculous numbers then we would be out.

Fabio Borini's old number. That'll be a tough act to follow. Lots of pressure on the young fella.

Maybe if some redcoats were in charge we'd be able to sign VVD, eh Danny?

I don't care if you watched the World Cup games live. I don't care if you think Marco Van Basten is relevant to this topic. The point is that the World Cup was 2 years ago. His performances at that time are no longer relevant. Funny that you use the word "baseless. "

All I'm saying is that there's no reason to judge the man without having even made an appearance for the club yet.

Also, reread my previous post. Because you seem to think I said some things that I didn't say. And have a beer. My god.

Sure, judging a player from YouTube clips is lazy. But judging a player based on a 2 year old World Cup and his performance for a relegated club is lazy as well. By the way, in case you didn't look up any facts, Wijnaldum scored 11 goals in the PL last season for an abysmal Newcastle side. Which is more than any current LFC player scored last season in the league.

So let's just pump the breaks and see what the man does for us, huh?

Spot on Sean Ireland.

I wanted him so bad this past summer. So bad. I think he and Lucas would be great as a double pivot. He's exactly the type of player we need. One can only hope.
