Good. Now let's get behind him.

The fee is not his fault. And it is also not his fault that other options do not want to come to us without Champions League.

How he played in the second half of last season means nothing to me. It's the future that matters.

Welcome to LFC.

I support him and wish all of the best. My only concern is that we should be reducing the squad size, as ed 001 states. Our team still seems a bit bloated.

Id just like to say that I'm currently working with a gang of geordies 3 of which are season ticket holders. Non had a bad word to say about him, very good player who they all think will thrive at Liverpool. As for second Hal of season they didn't blame him at all. They said there were players a lot worse than him, with janmaat takin a lot of the stick.

Stoked with this. His "style" is perfect for klopp. Direct, creative, quick, eye for goal. Its great. Watching highlights of 2015-16 season it us amazing how bland we look without cout, firmino on the field or on form. Now, with mane and wijnaldum we are adding players who will be compliment thpse two in attack percectly. Well maybe exaggerating perfect! But looks good to me.

Exactly, he looks good on highlight reels which is the laziest way of judging how good a player is. It`s like watching glorified youtube clips and then saying a player is awesome. I personally watched him play at the WC and at Newcastle and for me, he`s not what we need and is a luxury signing just like Lallana and Milner. What happens to Branagan and Grujic? I guess no one is talking about that as many just wanna see signings made without thinking of their impact on the squad and youth. I am open to be proven wrong on this as it means he contributed to our achievements next season which is all I care about. But if I`m right, then it will be another disaster like the ones we already know of. No need mentioning names as it`s just too painful.

Sure, judging a player from YouTube clips is lazy. But judging a player based on a 2 year old World Cup and his performance for a relegated club is lazy as well. By the way, in case you didn't look up any facts, Wijnaldum scored 11 goals in the PL last season for an abysmal Newcastle side. Which is more than any current LFC player scored last season in the league.

So let's just pump the breaks and see what the man does for us, huh?

I am going to say that I am 100% sure that GW is not competing for the same position as Branigan and Grujic. so don't worry about that. He will be competing for a spot as the attacking 3 with Couts, Fimino, Mane, Lallana, etc etc.

RedRum, your post has so many holes in it, it`s not eben funny. I watched all Holland`s games at the WC LIVE and not two year after and not highlights as I am a fan of the Dutch since the great Marco Van Basten. I also watched his games at Newcastle, NOT MOTD highlight reels so again your post makes no sense. You say he scored 11 goals but fail to admit that he score 6 of them in two games (4 vs Norwich and 2 vs Spurs on the last day of the season) . Another fact you "conveniently" failed to say in your post. Where was he for the other 30 odd games? I know. He was strolling around, being lazy. So lazy he got dropped by Rafa because he wasn`t working hard enough or is Rafa now a joke manager open to your baseless criticizms? If Klopp wants him, fine. But to say I or many others shouldn`t voice our opinions on such a IMO, pointless signing as we have too many at his position, will not be tolerated. I hope I`m wrong but like my gut told me about Benteke, this will end up in tears. I hope not but we shall see.

I don't care if you watched the World Cup games live. I don't care if you think Marco Van Basten is relevant to this topic. The point is that the World Cup was 2 years ago. His performances at that time are no longer relevant. Funny that you use the word "baseless. "

All I'm saying is that there's no reason to judge the man without having even made an appearance for the club yet.

Also, reread my previous post. Because you seem to think I said some things that I didn't say. And have a beer. My god.

Firstly hello mighty eds and thank you all for the time and effort you put into making us feel closer to the club, its god send really, especially for die hard fans thank you so much, my appreciation can not be measured. I want to say I'm very intrigued by klopps buys in a good way, he didn't seem one to buy stars at Dortmund more to make them of course I could be wrong but he assisted players to Become to become so much better and as for the fee, I think a certain legend made sure that since we paid 35m for Carroll anyone cheaper than that should be given a chance, I'm just saying, I'm fully behind klopp and what ever further plans he has Ill leave the media and rival fans to berate us, c'mon you reds! And I'll be changing my username ASAP.

Again, not reading my post. I said I watched both the WC and his games at New castle. You again, omitted this part of my post and keep harping on the World Cup part of it. Of course, you don`t care about what happened two years ago, neither do I. His perfs in Brazil are not relevant but his Newcastle performances of last season are, something you seem to conveniently fail to address in any of your posts. I`m judging him based on his record because that is what we can all go by. of course I`ll give him a chance as he`s not a bad player, just one we don`t need and IMO, isn`t better than those already at the club. What other choice do I have? Have a nice beer, by the way.

Oh Cincy at least the inarticulate nature and misunderstandings in your posts offer entertaining reading to those requiring a little smile. Rum's point ultimately is "get behind your team, it's manager, and it's players and future players" - negativity before they even kick a ball for us is not a trait true fans would possess.

I just hope that's not the committee at work again.

Wondering if Eds know if Klopp held interest in him or tried to sign him while at Dortmund.

{Ed001's Note - no idea sorry.}

Clearly Klop doesn't think high of the young defenders. He doesn't want Ilori and wisdom at all. Lucas is a midfielder, you may play him as a defender when there is a crisis but you shouldn't start a season considering him as a center back option. In modern football its difficult to play inexperienced center backs unless they are very talented, strikers continuously put pressure on defenders and in so many occasions goals are scored because of errors. I believe this is one position where the ability to read the game matters the most. when Gomes is fit he will get a chance if he is better. it's not like seniority is a criteria when he selects his line up.
