On the South Coast this holiday period and a mate of mine has said that he's heard Liverpool have been scouting Harry Arter of Bournemouth. Any truth eds?
{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

Nah, I've heard stories about Jason Mcateer - there's no way his spelling or grammar is that good! Have you heard the one about the wooden coat hanger with Jason and Razor?!

Perhaps they are thinking of their careers and know they're more likely to get game time at Liverpool and that Utd have good, sorry, quite good players in those positions already? Always more to it than just which is the bigger club.

I'm sorry to disagree, but I don't think he's all that good. Yes, he can break play up, but almost every game he plays (which aren't many) he seems to make a mistake in his own half, gifting the ball to the opposition. His first touch is woeful and his passing is poor, even though he only plays the simplest ball available most of the time. He frequently puts players in trouble with his decision making with the ball also.
Having said all that, he does sit in front of the back 4 quite well and breaks up play fairly effectively. I'm just not sure that the strong areas of his game make up for the weaknesses.

Agreed, we shouldn't expect anything, but we can hope for it! The premier league is, in my opinion, at its weakest for some time. Utd are not what they once were, nor are Chelsea. City and Arsenal look good, and spurs are doing what they normally do, playing topsy-turvy football. With JK coming in we have a real opportunity to grab a CL spot in my opinion, but we will need to show the passion and fast at King football we showed with SAS up front the season before last. I can see it happening, but I won't be expecting it.
Come on you red men - and Jurgen, welcome to the greatest club in the world!

Also, do you think FSG deliberately didn't sack BR in the summer so that they could do it now? They've probably seen what everybody else has seen this season, that the players aren't playing with commitment or heart, at least not very often - they needed to change it and so they have and if that means recently appointed coaches lose their jobs then so be it. I feel for Gary Mac as he seems to be a good guy and definitely is a legend, but there's a new boss and he, unsurprisingly, wants his own people around him.
