We could pop Man Utd to 3 deals if we sign Bacca!

25 Jun 2015 15:19:22
Maybe we can get a petition going for Firmino to change his name to Sterling so your username is still cool there mate. ;)

3.) 25 Jun 2015
25 Jun 2015 16:39:46
RedKev loooooooooooool I wish I could mate, eds says it's not possible at the moment to change user names, otherwise people would be changing them all the time, which makes sense too many trolls but i'm hoping if I refrain from asking silly Liverpool questions the eds may take pity on me and change my username firmino would be great.

4.) 25 Jun 2015
25 Jun 2015 16:35:44
Based on media, it is 10m with 2m in add ons.

5.) 25 Jun 2015
25 Jun 2015 16:49:59
Sterling, you can change your username but only for £50m and one penny.
Anything less, forget it.

6.) 25 Jun 2015
25 Jun 2015 18:03:32
Piping United. Are you for real! Did we also offer the same money for Firmino and clyne but the two players rejected us to join you lot? If we had been serious on both , they would chose us over you. And you know it

7.) 25 Jun 2015
25 Jun 2015 18:51:03
Well you targeted the players and we've got them. We have pipped you to them!

8.) 25 Jun 2015
25 Jun 2015 19:06:32
Someone's angry XD

9.) 25 Jun 2015
25 Jun 2015 20:07:19
We show interest in a lot of players, we didn't formally put forward a bid or talk to either player, therefore you didn't "pip" us to either. Laughable

10.) 25 Jun 2015
25 Jun 2015 20:09:53
Your right. I'm angry that you signed Ings ( mid table striker at best, bottle job when the pressures on, Milner (man City and England has been, a championship keeper, Firmino ( decent) and now clyne, another ok player, nothing more. I'm gutted were looking towards the likes of Ramos and sweinstieger plus depay rather than that lot you took xD

11.) 25 Jun 2015
25 Jun 2015 20:14:27
Perhaps they are thinking of their careers and know they're more likely to get game time at Liverpool and that Utd have good, sorry, quite good players in those positions already? Always more to it than just which is the bigger club.

12.) 25 Jun 2015
25 Jun 2015 20:40:37
Depay is a good signing, but Ramos and Schweinsteger are using United for bumper new contracts, and I think you know that deep down.

Depay can easily be another Luke Shaw for your guys, so let's put the handbags aside and judge our new signings later.

13.) 25 Jun 2015
25 Jun 2015 20:52:22
I would probably agree with that to a degree mate. I'm sure certain players would join you over us for that very reason and I'd have no complaints. What I'm getting at is that we never formally bidded for either player , so how can people say they chose you over us?

We need players, top players at that to compete next year. No two ways about that. But to get excited over the likes of Milner , Ings and clyne just shows how much of a decline Liverpool have taken in recent years. Also think your probably purchasing too many players again. 3/4 top quality of 7/8 ok players in my opinion is the way

14.) 25 Jun 2015
25 Jun 2015 20:56:04
Me thinks he detests too much. If they we're poor signings that Utd wasn't interested in why are you over here whining about it. Say no more.

15.) 25 Jun 2015
25 Jun 2015 20:57:39
No one said that they chose us over you! It's just we got your target!

16.) 25 Jun 2015
25 Jun 2015 22:19:41
To be fair though mate all the United fans I know have been crawling all over Firmino and clyne for a while now so you can't deny it.
Working in Manchester and speaking to colleagues today they confirmed how pissed off they were not to land Firmino and would be worse if they failed to get clyne.

In fact these fans went as far as to compare LVGs transfer window so far to the panicking, dithering, dismal transfer window that you lot enjoyed under David moyes.
LVG panic buying already?
Never mind eh? You may land bacca so no need to flap just yet stand!
Enjoy the rest of the window ;)

25 Jun 2015 21:29:54
Ed002 You say from the same person that told the Guardian it is true agreement has been reached. Are you the person that told the guardian? I realise you couldn't possibly say and you may not have been deliberately cryptic it just seemed it at a glance

{Ed002's Note - No, someone associated "closely" with the deal.}

18.) 25 Jun 2015
25 Jun 2015 22:05:33
Why so man bitter manual supporters here? Go back to wherever.

19.) 25 Jun 2015
25 Jun 2015 22:14:04
There is no real them or us as far as players from most of the rest of the world are concerned, only transfer policy. Fact is United's signings last summer were just as unsuccessful as ours, despite being even more expensive. With the roles reversed from that window in terms of Champions League participation, I think we can see how little difference there is between the attractiveness of Liverpool or Manchester to some kid from Brazil or wherever. United finished 4th because of Liverpool's implosion, not because they were any good themselves. The way this window is going it seems unimaginable that Liverpool won't improve, while United have a lot of work to do. By all means, spend another unholy fortune on prima donnas like Ramos and Schweinsteiger's sister, because that worked out wonderfully with Falcao, Shaw & Di Maria. :p

20.) 25 Jun 2015
25 Jun 2015 22:45:18
United are average at best. Let's be fair all Liver Fans would only take one player from your squad and he's going to be playing for Madrid next season

21.) 26 Jun 2015
25 Jun 2015 23:25:48
I think your missing the point a bit. If you want to win the league, you have to be better than what's there. Are Ings, Milner, clyne, etc better than what city, arsenal , Chelsea or united currently have? All good players yes, but not top players which will win you titles domestically and in Europe. Did you see any of the big Spanish, Italian or German sides fighting for Milner or Ings?

As for Firmino , I along with 90% of you haven't seen him play more than twice. You've got MOTD fever because of a few YouTube videos. He may be too class , he may not be. Time will tell.

I still think rather than sign 7 or 8 good players you should be targeting 3/4 real top class players though

22.) 26 Jun 2015
26 Jun 2015 00:04:27
Wow some of you really are deluded! So we only got 4th because you imploded. Over a course of a season the better side finished higher. Table doesn't lie. To say you would not take one player from us makes you look a clueless fool.

23.) 26 Jun 2015
26 Jun 2015 00:22:36
Let's compare to United as you want us to then. Clyne is better than all your RBs, unless you want to claim otherwise? Why would United be linked to him if it wasn't true?

Ings is to planned to be our 3rd choice striker and with Hernandez gone, yours is probably Wilson who isn't exactly proven. And even if Ings was 2nd choice, I'd rather him than an old and passed it Van Persie.

Firmino is celebrated by many experts as a great player, including the legendary ronaldinho. And after Di Maria's performance in a red shirt, I'm confident in saying Firmino will surpass him in the premier league.

As for Milner, City were desperate to hold on to him, and as they finished above both us and united, I'd say the big clubs still wanted him.

To tell you the truth, I agree that we do not have the team to win the league. Far from it in fact. What we do have, if we get a striker, is a team that can challenge for top 4 and with United probably the weakest of the top 4 teams, it looks like we'll be going head to head with you for a European qualification. If you really want to rule us out now, then be my guest, but I promise you that it would be unwise. I look forwards to the challenge. Let the best team win.

24.) 26 Jun 2015
26 Jun 2015 01:19:24
I would take De Gea (but he's gone) and on his day I'd take Rooney

Mata I wouldn't take because we have Coutinho and now Firmino, and Di Maria has been awful at times this season.

Apart from that I wouldn't have any United player. I personally think United have completely lost their soul of late and are becoming somewhat what Chelsea became early Abramovic - overpaid big names with quality yes but no integrity or sense of "love" for the club. But fair play it got you from seventh to fourth!

Milner is a good signing on a free and you know it deep down, every club needs a workhorse like him. Ings as we know is going to be a back up - we aren't in CL and we need someone who isn't going to eat our wage bill and can act as a goal scoring backup to Sturridge, Firmino and whoever else we sign.

25.) 26 Jun 2015
26 Jun 2015 08:23:16
I do agree with some of what stand-united is saying but half the problem is we have a good squad anyway par a couple of players which some hopefully going (skrtel, Allen)
We just had a really bad manager

26.) 26 Jun 2015
26 Jun 2015 09:08:27
I think the real point here (and I say this as a long in the tooth liverpool fan that remembers the best days like they were yesterday) is that neither Liverpool or Man U are even close to Chelsea right now. If Stand-United wants to use his teams name in the same breath as Jose's outfit then really that is delusion. To also be happy with 4th on any continuous basis is not the DNA of a fan of either of two clubs that have seen so much more albeit in the past! No, I want 1st and only 1st for my club but I understand that it is going to take a build to do it, a volume of young prospects with some lessor levels of older statesman required to help along the way. Man U is not any different, they are "way behind" being the best and are (I hate to say it but) far more comparable to us right now than Chelsea even Man City or Arsenal. Last year they came 4th and if you come 4th you deserve 4th but that can easily turn like it did the year before. I'd not put any decent money on it being a swift upturn though, maintained then over a good few seasons. No they need to build just like us and they need a manager that can do that too - currently they don't have that either!

27.) 26 Jun 2015
26 Jun 2015 09:28:54
Don't mistake me as some massive Brendon Rogers fan because I am not (not am I one of the muppet at united) but you are deluded if you think it is all down to the manager! He was also the same manager the season before and you are equally deluded if you think that was all down to Suarez! i'd love is to but we won't win the league next year and nor will Man U - but we will be competition for one another at a similar level of performance and expectation.

28.) 26 Jun 2015
26 Jun 2015 11:04:35
To be fair I can see what Stand United is saying. We don't seem to sign match winners and are padding out the squad again. Firmino has caused a bit of buzz and Clyne would be a good signing for the right position. But Ings, Milner and Bogdan? Are we signing them for the sake of it because they're free. Are they any better than what we already have? The summers young though and for the sake of tradition- pipe down Manc scum ha!

29.) 26 Jun 2015
26 Jun 2015 12:37:16
Inge scored more goals than Lambert, Balotelli and Borini combined, not to mention in a relegated team!! And he actually suits our style of play for once. So yes, I do think Ings I'd better than what we have.

Milner is the perfect back-up to Hendo. If Hendo was injured, would you rather Allen or Milner to play there instead? And Milner's extremely versatile and offers the team more experience which we are currently lacking.

Bogdan is the only signing I'm unconvinced by, but he's most likely been bought so Ward can have more time to improve. LFC have quite clearly been impressed with Mignolet's recent form and decided they should spend money on other areas rather than GK.

Don't listen to this deluded Manc, we have made some great signings with more to come. We were never going to be signing the likes of lacazerte or Reus as we simply don't have the money and they want champions league. But players like Firmino and Kovacic are the next best options, as we can get them for affordable prices and they can only improve and increase in value. Be optimistic and don't rule out our signings before they've stepped on the pitch

30.) 26 Jun 2015
26 Jun 2015 12:26:41
You still don't see my point tho. I'm not comparing United to Chelsea, in fact I'm pretty harsh on my club. We're miles away from them. But we're looking to sign world class talent. The type of player who can turn you into challengers. I personally don't feel any of your signing so far bar Firmino (if he's as good as stated as I haven't seen him) are. City were desperate to keep Milner because he's British for the home grown rule. He's not a top player. He doesn't even start for England and we all know how bad they are. Bogdan for jones makes NO sense to me. You should of signed a top keeper and used mig as backup. I just see Liverpool signing 8/9 ok players , rather than 3/4 real quality players that will make your first 11 stronger

31.) 26 Jun 2015
26 Jun 2015 14:10:44
Have you watched Bogdan? Quality mate - I personally expect hom to be first choice not a replacement for Jones as most people that don't really know anything other than that he comes from the championship team about him!
