Normally just read the rumours,however been a member for a long time.Great site,appreciate the Eds hard work always.I rarely post as not normally got anything concreat to offer.But i am getting very concerned with the quality of players we are linked to or have signed (with the exception of Milner).Eds do you believe at least one top quality player will sacrifice champions league football and join us in this window,other than Milner?

Haven't seen Konoplyanka play more than twice - but he looked quite alright on both occasions. However i belive with Lallana, Ibe, Markovic, Coutinho, Milner we are more than covered in his position. Furthermore we have two exelent talents in Ojo and Teixeira, so i don't see the point in going for him when Sterling is sold.
We should instead invest whatever we can in the two positions most needed: striker and goalkeeper (and defensive mid. if Lucas goes - something i certainly doesn't wish for).
But guess that is wishfull thinking. Would not surprise me if we bought in a few attacking midfielders instead - just to further unbalance the team.
Guess the lineup could end up looking like this next year :-P

Just thought that he should literally be the first name on the teamsheet CanIbeTheKing. And since we like to play from the back he would be perfect there. And that mean defense of Ibe, Sakho, Skrtel and Can shielded by a player like kovacic won't concede any chances anyway. So it is perfect

Guys, you're all reading the team wrong. Brendan favours the back 3 now so clearly it is Markovic in goal with the strength, aggression and heading ability of Couts, Lallana and possibly Konoplyanka at the back.
Obviously Joe Allen's goal scoring record stacks up against the best so it is a no brainer that he plays the lone striker role up front.
I must admit that I was disappointed to see that Migs ball playing skills are surplus to requirements in the centre of midfield.
