Hi Eds,
Lots of reports tonight saying a £22m bid for Mkhitaryan is imminent, irrespective of the Suarez situation, do you have any more information on this? Looks a really top player, potential long term successor to Gerrard!
Also the Mirror reports that Rodgers has £35m plus cash from sales, is this just speculation or is there any truth in it?

On Salah, I think he'd be a great signing. Honestly think if we had have gotten him last time, he'd have been sold by now. It was too early, he wasn't physically developed and relied too much on his pace. He has since matured, been coached really well and improved his all round game.
15 goals and 11 assists from the wing in Serie A is some going. For context, Dybala scored 11 and assisted 7. £34m would be a good deal in the current market.
For those saying the price is high, we paid £30m for Mane who has just had a great season scoring 13 goals/ 5 assists. How much would he be worth now?

It's hard to argue against him. He's been brilliant this year and teams have struggled to contain him, he's intelligent on the ball, he causes problems with his pace and skill, plus he has an end product. As you say, compare his output with Dybala and you have to say he's top class.

Agree with you, think he will be a fantastic signing! but mane's price was more than that. think it was a bit higher than andy carrols price even if im not mistaking.

Ed001 - I can see what you're saying re. CB, squad size and the young lads already at the club, including Gomez, but I honestly think Klopp felt we needed another left sided/ left footed centre-back. It seemed to be shaping up to be Matip/ Gomez for RCB and Sakho/ Lovren for LCB. now Klavan adds a more like for like replacement for Sakho, keeping the balance provided by the left footed player there. With Moreno starting so high up the pitch, it's easy for the opposition to 'block' the passing lane when there is a right footed player there and force the play back down the right.

Confirmed by Paul Joyce from the Express. Ian Ayre has flown out to the USA to discuss a deal for Teixeira! The lad has 22 goals and 3 assists in 15 games.
Under the radar, similar to Firmino in the summer. Much better from the club.

I heard a few days ago that £22m with £3m in add-ons had been proposed and people at the club were feeling confident we could do a deal. This isn't too far away from what Tilly has heard, so there is likely some truth in it.
