Is there any chance Liverpool could look to take Mark Warburton (ex-Brentford boss) into the set up behind BR or BR's replacement? I'm sure he will be looking for a new managers role but he did an amazing Job at Brentford having been director of football before being manager in last 2 seasons. A lot of his success was in bringing in young players and has strong scouting links in Europe at youth level.
I think he would be a great down to earth addition that would challenge some of the David Brent nonsense that is becoming all a bit too much and must be driving FSG mental.

He would come if the club doesn't pursue a dof approach because I think he left Brentford along with Frank mcpartland for them going in that direction.
{Ed001's Note - no, McPartland was the DoF there in all but name. He left because Brentford want to sign players based on a stats system the owner created. He owns other clubs that work that way.}

Eds, who are we looking to to strengthen our defence we'll need a LB and CB before next season but we seemed to be linked mostly with forwards and attacking midfielders?

{Ed002's Note - There was a lot of interest in Moreno but a deal could not be struck. I suspect it won't now happen, but don't rule it out completely. Initial interest was in Rojo and Hector Moreno - but the posters were convinced they are not of Liverpool quality. However, they are both of interest to a number of other clubs. Liverpool returned again to ask about the availability of Bertrand, a player Rodgers knows well. But there is interest in him from elsewhere. Liverpool made a verbal offer for Lovren and would still, I think be keen. But there is interest in him from elsewhere. I am not aware of rumours about Alderweireld but Atletico would happily sell him as they don't see him as making the grade - if you have heard rumours, they might be true and feel free to share them.}

Eds - if we end up getting Benteke for £30m+ and then they lose Delph to Citeh that's their two best players out the club. Some would argue that if Randy Learner has Villa up for sale he would be better off not asset stripping it? Or does he and everyone bar Ian Ayre know that this is way above the players real value so makes sense for him to cash in and accept less for the clubs sale?

For them its like losing gerrard and suarez. So whoever they bring in isn't guaranteed success. They have to do a southampton which is harder said than done. I reckon they might buy Lambert though seeing as though they had the interest last Jan.

They didn't want to sell Delphi or benteke. They both had clauses which were met. How is that asset stripping when they would rather have kept them?

Fantastic effort from all players, believe Henderson deserves more credit than he gets as he covers the ground superbly. Also the pace of Sterling is a nightmare for any defence which already has to contend with The Genius and Sturridge. Hope this gives us the confidence to attack from the off away from home more.

El Hadji Diouf was my favourite player at the World Cup in 2002 so you can never tell how jolly good they will be in the EPL?
