First of all I'd like to say it was a great podcast and I'm delighted to finally understand why the summer went the way it did. As I see it, the only reason why FSG kept buck was that they have made an objective decision regarding his ability as a coach and his potential as a manager. How else do we explain why he is retained when at the business end of three seasons in charge and over a quarter of a billion pounds spent on players (including agents fees) we get beaten 6-1 by Stoke and battered at home by palace. If we are honest, the quality of football for the majority of last season was appalling. We didn't start out to well in Europe and got progressively worse because we seemed incapable of learning our lessons, I don't really want to talk about Madrid away and the less said about team selections and tactics, both domestically and in Europe, the better. Obviously I hope FSG have got it right but I'm not so sure. If they have then I will be delighted but for me, who was originally a Rodgers die hard, I hope rather than believe. As for later tonight, I would break your arm for a draw but I hope we win 4-0. Cherrs

It breaks my heart that we managed to make the worst utd side of the last 25 years look ok at times and I know Gerard deserved to go but did that red card signal the end for buck? Top 4 now unlikely especially with arsenal and chelsea away so after 3 years and £225 million will fsg say it's time for a change? While there's hope I will keep the faith but if a new manager does come in, who would you want?

Well it's not all over; if we win at Arsenal, it's right back on, and it does make the next game a really important one.

{Ed002's Note - So you expect Aston Villa to win at Old Trafford as well?}

I hope your right matey, a no mark fraud of a manager who should be prosecuted by the fraud squad the monies he's wasted.

No, I am looking a little further ahead as far as Man Utd results are concerned.

{Ed002's Note - Then you also need to look further ahead at the Liverpool games and figure out where the extra six points come from.}

In my opinion, with the money spent, he has to go. A manager buying that poorly cannot maintain a successful team over many seasons.

As an aside I am worried by Moreno - he has games where he does not seem to turn up at all - he needs fining or dropping to make clear its not on, he was the worst player (who lasted more than 45 seconds) on the pitch today, why? Wasn't he supposed to be the next major right back?

{Ed001's Note - he is a left back playing at wing back.}

Edd001 he has to go for me.
Gerrard doesn't have us in this position Rodgers does.
I'm away with the my boy car shopping. Not a great day atall

Top4 is gone guys. This is what happens when u have too many kiddies in your first team all season and a rookie manager who loves bottling it in the first 4 months of every season. Man Utd were more consistent (and lucky) over a longer period and deserve to finish above LFC. Just hope we get in a proper manager who will adapt to the players' strengths than impose his own beliefs which are unlikely to yield results. The owners would have been disappointed with just a 4th place finish and FA Cup. Just imagine how p****d they will be if the club cannot even get into the top4 after splurging so much money.

7.) 22 Mar 2015 16:35:45
Without going to too much conjecture, I think there is a chance LFC can pick up 6 more points over the next 8 games than Man Utd.

{Ed002's Note - Of course.}

Its tragic that after so many years of such great service to the club, Stevie pretty much wrecked our chances of salvaging something from his last united game, and to add to the misery, it was a game that has all but decided the race for fourth place.
In truth it was that crap first half of the season- as well a crap 1st half today- that has finally cost us fourth place this season, but Stevie put the final nail in the coffin.
Ed, if we do get a 5th place finish do you think rodgers is likely to be dismissed, or could other things save him, eg fa cup funal win?

{Ed002's Note - Done to death.}

9.) 22 Mar 2015 16:48:01
I understand that ed, and I am not trying to condemn the guy, but wasn't one of the worries when we signed him that he would be too attacking? I mean this is the umpteenth game I have seen Moreno lax, unfocused, unwilling and unable to help the team. For me alram bells are ringing big time. The way he is playing is like a young Enrique - wasn't he supposed to be so much better??

Disappointed but actually not that disheartened although there is now a bit of pressure for spurs on Sunday. We always knew it would take time for the team to gel but there were a few glimpses to indicate that the new signings have some potential. To me it was more about how professional city were than the mistakes we made and the fact that we have 3 more points from the corresponding fixtures last year is small comfort as City and Chelsea look as if they could be a cut above the rest this year

Ballotelli on loan might be good but for me it depends on cost. Are we taking him on loan with an option to buy or is it that our primary target is not available. Of course it could be a loan until Origi arrives next summer.

Overall a pretty decent performance without the result although it's hard to believe that even though the season is only started, depending on how the FA cup goes we may only have 34 games left. disappointed but I honestly believe progress is being made.
