To me, Anceloti should be the obvious choice. There is absolutely no comparison between him and Klopp. CA has won everything under the sun, his teams always play exciting football and his defenses are rock solid. You just can't ignore the last season Klopp had at Dortmund.

1 question for the eds. Is there any possibility that LFC may approach Chelsea for Mourinho?

{Ed002's Note - I don't see Liverpool approaching Chelsea for Mourinho.}

Carlo Anceloti is the only manager to win 3 Champions Leagues/European Cups other than Bob Paisley.

Hello to everyone here. Just a few questions for EDs and anyone else interested on the match yesterday:

1) In terms of the momentum, did the gunners upped the tempo in the second half or did we decide to sit back enabling them to dictate play?

2) Most of the gunners' attacks came from the left-end side (our right). Was it just because Sanchez primarily played on that side or was it to do with our shape?

3) What was the logic of changing Lucas with Rossiter? Wouldn't it have made more sense to change Lucase with Moreno and asked Coutinho to move more in the middle?

4) I'll be honest, I have only seen Ibe in the last 4 or 5 games. I can't recall seeing him beat a single defender in any of those games plus more worryingly he takes the wrong option 9 times out of 10. Is it just a temporary lapse of form or is this stage too early for him to be on?

5) Considering Ibe's form, doesn't Markovic makes more sense (if Firmino has to be subd)?

These questions are not to have a go at Rogers, these are just to clear my limited understanding of the game.

Thank you.

{Ed001's Note - 1. Both
2. Both
3. Lucas was felt to be tiring
4. Just a bad run of form, he is trying too hard to make an impact imo
5. Ibe needs to gain experience if he is to achieve his potential, bringing him on as a sub will help him get that

Moreno on for Lucas would've made no sense at all. Rossiter came in to break up play and win the ball back, that is certainly not what Coutinho should've been asked to do.

Also, Ibe had a very good pre-season and deserved his starts. I agree that he seems to be trying too hard and feeling a bit of pressure to hold down a starting spot.

I had to listen on the radio, but i got the impression all their attacks were coming down the left because Ramsay was being played out of position on the right and couldn't make as much impact as Sanchez was.
Liverpool caught on and were quite happy just flooding our right knowing Bellerin would be the only width from the other side.

Thank you all.

Mr Yoxall. Suarez is up there with Ronaldo and Messi, he is arguably the third best player in the world. These sort of players can carry teams on their shoulders and he did. He had Sturridge, Sterling, Coutinho and Gerrard in supporting roles. There is no way you can say that we have a better starting 11 now after losing Suarez, Sterling and Gerrard.

I agree with DBol. Excluding Coutinho and maybe Sturridge, you can't really see any other world class player there. Klopp will need to build the team. Maybe not wholsesale changes but definitely 3 to 4 world class guys need to come in. Henderson, Milner, Lucas, Joe Allen are average players and you can't expect them to be converted in to world beaters even if you put Klopp, Ancelloti and Mourinho in charge all together. I do not want to bring people down in this moment of optimism but in my opinion, the biggest mistake Klopp can make is to believe that he can win the league with this set of players.

Ed, you said Klopp prefers counter-attacking football. If you look at EPL record of the past two decades, I can't recall a counter-attacking team other than Chelsea, which has managed to win the league. It has been mainly dominated by Man U, Arsenal and Man City teams which preferred a more attacking style of play. Secondly, we seriously lack in pace to execute counter-attacks most of the time. So my question is that do you think it would makes sense for LFC to go with a manager whose preferred style is counter-attack when it may not suit the league and the players to begin with?

salmanhasan

{Ed001's Note - he is the best available manager, so it makes sense to go for him.}

- That's what you get when you don't want to win games when playing well. We could have easily beaten arsenal but BR decided it was better to take a point and made us sit back in the second half. Had we won at gunners, this loss wouldn't feel as bad. Now we have ManU away and if we lose there, we will be mid-table in blink of an eye.

- Team seems hopelessly dependent on Coutinho, and we can't expect him to carry everyone on his shoulders in every single game.

- I am not sure why Can was all over the place, why didn't he just stick to central midfield, where he plays best.

- WHU were pressing high, they had filled the midfield. Everytime we had the ball, 2 or 3 players were pressing on the guy with the ball, yet we did not play long balls and didn't bring Benteke in the game at all.

- On the positive, Firmino and Ings looked bright. But knowing BR, Ings will not get any real chances.

- All in all, I (haven't just yet) am losing faith in BR quite quickly.
