Still trying to get my head around the notion that Klopp will no longer be our manager next season. I knew he would leave, eventually, but never this soon, especially after he talked so enthusiastically about Liverpool 2.0.

The will be a lot that Liverpool and FSG will need to deal with now: A new manager, new coaching staff, new philosophy, new sporting director, new transfer targets, new standards to be set, expectations to be met, important contracts to be sorted, decisions to be made about those soon out of contract. There is so much to do for the incoming manager.

However, at least we have until June to get it right. We also have a strong squad, that is capable of competing on multiple front. From first team to youth academy, and the process between the two, appears strong. So, that is a relief.

Finally, will be interested to see what people think we need first: The Manager or the Sporting Director? Both will be expected to work in tandem, and I can see us getting the Sporting Director first to then help decide the new manager. That will be a massive decision.

Best of luck, no one can replace Klopp, but we can still move forward regardless.

Mango. We have to get Xabi Alonso in ASAP. If we wait and mess around. Bayern Munich could sweep in and get him. Alonso first, then Sporting Director. Plus the CEO of Bayer Leverkusen has said today that - If a team (Liverpool) comes in for him, they will not stand in his way. Therefore initiate contact and get it wrapped up. Also, are we unable to multitask? We should be starting the process on both simultaneously.

Respectfully Andy. Mango asked a question on what I thought was an open forum, and I gave my opinion. I’m not demanding as I have now power to change anything. I’m just a fan like you, who received some
unexpected news. And wants to ensure, or should I say hopes the club gets in who I feel is the best candidate to become. Nothing more, nothing less.

Personally I think alonso could very well come in. But let’s not derail their season just yet. I’d love to see him come out saying he’s no intention of focusing on anything but their championship challenge and kill the stories there. (But secretly be open to retaining the league with us next season) I’m not sure how good he is or how his style of football would work, but of all the candidates- he’d be my choice on feeling alone.
