Ed 01 if you're about. just asking but could you see us moving for Gvardiol with the funds we have acquired through both Henderson and Fabinho sales, which were totally unexpected at the beginning of pre season.
I know I'm clinging to hope but £52 million out of the blue surely gives us the opportunity at least make contact regarding him., and see what terms would be acceptable to RBL.

Ed01, I think we can get or make a real play for Gvardiol if some of the conditions I wil mention come thru. So hear me out.
Gvardiol not going to City gives us an opportunity to go get him. This is cos IF we sell Salah to the Saudis on a big fee with one year left on his deal (cos they will come for him, IMO) along with Kellerher (cos at some point, we're going to have to let him go to raise funds for transfers in general), that would give us the funds (90m to 100m) we need to go for him w/ o evn touching whatever transfer kitty we will have CL or not.
Also, we would have cleared Matip's and Salah's wages off the books so the wage bill is even lowered a lot more than this season so that won't be a prob. Most importantly, Gvardiol would be perfect for this new inverted system (don't like it, peronally) to a T cos he can play LCB in a back 3, a back 4 and LB. Ticks ALL the boxes regardless of system, IMO.
This is an easy path should we really want Gvardiol and we all know he has been "tapping" us up for months now, lol. What do you think?

Where does Salah come in to all of this, by the way? I don’t care how good the best centre-back is, Salah is better and more important to a team. Trading Salah for Gvardiol would be a move only someone with an IQ of below 30 would make.

All I put out was a scenario based on actual possibilities cos regardless of what you think an LFC fan's IQ is for giving hypothetical scenarios, us selling Salah to the Saudis should a deal be seen as worth it (esp. since we are stacked up top), is a strong possibility with one year left on his deal and if he won't sign a new one. A dream, I know but not out of the realm of possibility cos the Saudis have actually said they will come for him next season, I read somewhere.
Now rather than resort to childish, pathetic name-calling, you could just read the post carefully where you will realize that is is just a hypothetical yet not impossible and offer your disagreement by using actual arguments rather than the poor excuse of a retort you provided. Peace and Love.

1985mikey1985, I think the club rate him and would like to sign him cos we inquired about him this summer. However as you are alluding to, we ain't go that type of money (90m plus, per reports) hanging around right now, IMO.
Hence, my scenario that if Salah won't sign a new deal after next season then, why should we keep him and not sell him to generate the funds that would be necessary to help fund Gvardiol or any other top prospect needed to accelerate the rebuild I think we will still be in even after next season? You can add Kellerher in there, as well (different situation) .
I agree that the club won't do this BUT we cannot say that there is no way of doing it. After all whether Salah is sold or not is what the club can actually control.

I do think this season coming will be salahs last at Liverpool as I can’t see a scenario where the Saudis don’t go for the most iconic Muslim player ever . They are probably in his agents ear now .
Just enjoy the man while he’s here and if we sell him or he leaves on a free I really don’t care as I’ve just enjoyed this lad in a red shirt so much .

So there's someone out there who has a proven history of scoring 23 goals minimum and 44 goals maximum per season over the last 5 seasons (add the assists later), almost never misses a game or is injured, and will accept a lower salary than 350K per week in the EPL. Someone tell me who?
