Evening Eds, have we shown any interest in Timo Werner? He looks like a top player to me. Cheers top site as always.

{Ed002's Note - No but there is interest from elsewhere.}

1.) 20 Nov 2018 17:12:42
Shame cheers Ed002.

2.) 20 Nov 2018 19:33:33
I would imagine he will cost someone close to £100 mill, there can’t be more than 4 or 5 clubs that can afford him and need a striker. Chelsea?

3.) 20 Nov 2018 21:14:53
He would suit either Chelsea or Colchester.

4.) 20 Nov 2018 22:08:47
Who are Liverpool currently interested in?

5.) 21 Nov 2018 03:46:53
Hessle, no one lol. We aren't making any squad additions until the summer, which will likely be dictated by players being sold.

6.) 22 Nov 2018 10:43:27
I imagine Timo werner would be a success at Colchester I know he might not get in the team to start with it wouldn't be easy to wrestle Ryan gondoh or frank nouble out of the team but if he knuckles down in training catches the gaffers eye makes the most of his appearances off the bench as long as he doesn't let the potential adulation get to his head and he doesn't get his head turned by the bright lights of Plymouth argyle I'm sick of them pilgrims poaching Colchesters best players and they would have got away with it if it hadn't been for those pesky kids he should be OK.

Hi ed's top site! The story regards salah being offered to Barcelona by his agents, is this allowed? I know we are not the best to talk about tapping up, but surely this is if true?
Cheers gents.

{Ed025's Note - agent are a law unto themselves janmo and see themselves as above any rules, but nothing has happened yet so i would take it with a pinch of salt at this juncture mate..

1.) 06 Jun 2018 21:01:27
Salah’s Agent tweeted - “this didn’t happenso go check your sources! ” Clearly nonsense.

2.) 06 Jun 2018 21:07:40
Cheers ed.

{Ed025's Note - no probs mate..

3.) 06 Jun 2018 21:24:37
Salah offered himself to many suitors- particularly Real Madrid but it came to nothing (Thankfully) . I could be wrong but I believe ed2 suggested said parties balked at the wages suggested or something along those lines. Regardless, for this window it’s unlikely he’ll leave.

Afternoon peeps, just read an article in the echo regarding where have all the FSG haters gone? I would like to say they have sorted the mess out off the field, which has sorted the mess out on the field. You've got to say they have done a cracking job, it was never going to be a Chelsea overnight job. Well done FSG!

1.) 30 Dec 2018 16:43:17
The only thing they've done correctly is recruit a top class manager, something we asked for when they arrived yet chose to shop in the bargain basket of football. Pretty much everything else they've mismanaged, (like revenue streams with unethical companies)

With regards to the timing of the Pearce article, his motives must be questioned because at a time when we should forget of the field distractions and all be focused on getting behind the team, this is a divisive article and is in danger of upsetting a lot of people. Disgusting piece of journalism if you ask me. I was willing to put this on the back burner with the team fighting for the title but it's just fanned the flames again.

2.) 30 Dec 2018 17:42:51
Wow did Santa forget to stop at yours Waro? The club was in a mess when they took over, it seems to be in best shape it's been in recent history.

3.) 30 Dec 2018 18:37:26
Waro, nonsense lad.

4.) 30 Dec 2018 19:01:47
Waro you are wrong, FSG may have made mistakes but for you to suggest the only thing they have done correctly, is recruit a top class manager is rubbish.
They have also given Klopp massive transfer funds to invest in players like Van Dijk and Alisson etc. The team is fighting for the title thanks to Klopp, the players and the investment of the owners but you are ignoring this.
A Top class manager will only get a team so far but it requires major investment in players to win titles, but you already this.
Why don't you give us the facts of why they are terrible owners as I do not understand your thinking.

5.) 30 Dec 2018 23:31:09
Wirral what's nonsense? I'm not going down this route at the moment, see me at the end of the season. See what I'm saying about a divisive article, there will be Liverpool fans now arguing about this when we should all be pulling in the same direction, going to try and not bite on this subject but Pearce is a complete idiot for starting this up at this time, people in SOS definitely won't be happy with this article and whether you like them or not they have the ear of thousands of Liverpool supporters. Totally irresponsible journalism.

6.) 30 Dec 2018 23:35:40
I will do if allowed to.

7.) 31 Dec 2018 02:58:00
Its get rid of the owners, they've done nothing, let's start another 10 year rebuild, they are so much fun.

SOS will never be happy unless they run the club, no one will ever be good enough in their eyes.

8.) 31 Dec 2018 10:50:52
Waro, I got a yellow card from Ed02 (rightly) for getting into a head-to-head with another poster so I will leave it there.

13 Nov 2018 19:20:45
Hi Eds I don't know wether you talk about it but what's the situation with Daniel Sturridge? Alan Brazil said this morning that the word is he may have talked about his proposed move to West Brom. I find this crazy that footballer can't talk about his life without people betting on it. Obviously I don't know the full story. Cheers eds.

{Ed002's Note - Players are expected to avoid all involvement in any activity that could lead to gambling. I don't know the details.}

1.) 13 Nov 2018 19:34:35
Cheers ed002 hopefully he doesn't get a ban, could well end his career.

2.) 13 Nov 2018 19:34:35
Cheers ed002 hopefully he doesn't get a ban, could well end his career.

{Ed002's Note - The second charge could well result in a ban if found guilty.}

3.) 13 Nov 2018 23:33:18
Hopefully it was an honest mistake and he gets a slap on the wrist, doesn’t sound as bad as some of the ones in the recent past.

4.) 14 Nov 2018 02:45:46
I find it ludicrous people can bet on such events like potential transfers, down to what can happen in the 11th minute of a match. Why is there any need to open up so many options to gamble on things that clearly can be so easily manipulated. it only makes it so much easier to suck in addicted gamblers, and provides a huge playing field for those intent on manipulation and cheating.

At least if gambling was restricted to just the key events such as outcomes of matches, it would be a lot harder to manipulate the outcomes, easier to identify suspicious betting patterns and reduce temptation.

5.) 14 Nov 2018 06:43:08
It’s because the government have stripped the country to its bare bones with austerity and the only growth industry is self-destruction through gambling.
Corrupt Tories don’t care about people, they only care about their own money.

{Ed025's Note - your a man after my own heart ron, i agree with every word of that mate..

6.) 14 Nov 2018 08:20:47
Ed002, just to clarify your original reply, if for example Sturridge told a family friend about a move before it was public, and said friend bet on it, without Studge's knowledge, that could result in a ban? Or have I got the wrong end of the stick?u

{Ed002's Note - if someone benefited from something he said then yes.}

7.) 14 Nov 2018 08:24:01
But why do we have an austerity policy in the 1st place Ron? Greedy bankers putting the country into more debt than World War 2. That’s where the real blame lies for the state of public services. Got off Scott free aswell with muggins the Taxpayer clearing up the mess. A mess so big our grandchildren will still be paying it.

8.) 14 Nov 2018 08:54:15
Thanks Ed002, seems harsh if he hasn't directly benefitted from it, but I guess someone in his line of work should really know better and not put himself in positions where this could happen.

{Ed002's Note - He knows exactly what the rules are.}

9.) 14 Nov 2018 21:24:15
Spot on Ron.

27 Mar 2018 19:43:44
Hi ed's
Do players really hold the power over clubs in which players they sign? In the media every other story is about the green light given by players. Or is this just no news to report bs.
Cheers top site.

{Ed002's Note - No they don't. It would be fair to say Messi has used the power he has created for himself to influence or try and influence matters in the past. Other occurencies have happened - but it is very rare.}

1.) 28 Mar 2018 08:37:50
Stevie G should have used his influence to tell Rafa not to try and sell Alonso just to get Gareth Barry Haha.

07 Jan 2018 11:32:54
Morning everyone,
I'm convinced that the summer window was something klopp and the club didn't want to rumble on again in Jan. We've got the best price and got rid early in the window. Sad to see him go, but until recently he did flit in and out of games and should be producing more. Klopp has bought players when available that will improve the squad, and more recently the first team. It seems odd that they wouldn't have somebody lined up to replace him after selling in Jan. But let's not forgot we have just spent 75mill on someone who just slotted in to the side against Everton. Rash spending is not the answer. For the bigger picture and rebuilding of the club we should wait till the summer until the right players are available. Fingers crossed we will be in a position in the league to attract the top players.

30 Aug 2017 12:18:07
Afternoon Ed's, is this transfer window a one off? Or will fees continue to rise dramatically? Some clubs and managers are saying it's unwise to buy in this window. Thanks in advance for your comments. Great site.

{Ed001's Note - impossible to say. Prices do tend to be an upward trend though over time.}

Coady left to get games and give him his dues he's turned into a great player for wolves. He's hardly going to come back to us and not be guaranteed to play. Plus we would have to pay stupid money for their captain in this window knowing we are light at CB.

It's hardly an advantage Derby are pretty much going to play their best side. I think is just mind games, and you could go to their previous match and sit in nice seat with a bovril and watch the full game and get the same info. I think it's quite funny and refreshing. I hope the guy that did it was wearing those glasses with fake nose and muzzi.

In your opinion ed do think there will ever be a meaningful cap on overseas players? This would maybe help players like Moreno not waste their careers sitting on the bench. Cheers ed.

{Ed002's Note - the PL is stuck between success, which has happened and sense which says you have a mass of youngsters, use them. Everyone - including the clubs - want the youngsters - but not at the expense of the success.}

Is this why the German teams are looking at English youth because there's no money compared to our league in the European leagues?

{Ed001's Note - it is more because English clubs do not give them as much first team football as German clubs do. Though that is partly down to the money differential, as they can't buy 45 squad players and so have to look to develop youth players.}

Fair play ed01 I stand corrected.

{Ed001's Note - the problem is the interest is from Spain and, in particular, Sevilla, who do not have the money to make a deal.}

Other players say they would like to leave to get game time. I can't believe he's not been close to a move. Milner played I his position for a season, that's got to frustrating enough to force a move.

{Ed001's Note - and Moreno has said he would like to leave for game time. There is no interest because he is overpaid and we are asking too much.}
