Is there a player profile on llorente

Did he score against us before playing as a attacker of the bench if I remember correctly
May have knocked us out of the CL

Just always had him as a 8 or right sided midfielder

But seems he's more of a DM and right full well not a surprised.

{Ed001's Note - there isn't yet but he can play all over midfield and at full back.}

He is not an out and out DM. He is not disciplined enough to play that role nor he is good in the air. He is more of a James Milner. Don’t understand how he can replace one of the best DM we have ever had.

I wouldn't say no to him but I'd prefer a dedicated and focused player for the DM role. With Bajcetic as the backup or alternate. You can have a CM who's very good at various things (like a Milner) but master of none.

Bang on ArAy. We should have simply gotten Ugarte earlier in the window. Florentino Luis would be a good shout as would be Manue Kone.

Titanic - are you going to troll everything? he plays for the most disciplined manager and team in world football.

Surely it will be both him and Lavia, for different reasons. One to replace Fab and the other to replace Hendo.

On the subject of Hendo, this situation has created difficulty since, if he stays now, he may get grief from some quarters whilst the buying side are trying to say that they have no money.
How can they have no money whilst offering so much in wages?

I would be surprised to see Llorente as a first choice Fabinho replacement. To me, he's more of a Hendo backfill, if anything. He is tall and rangey, can carry the ball with lung bursting runs and is decent at making recovery runs. A flexible bench option. Ironically, he wears no14 too.

Yeah seems he's more a hendo replacement rather then a fab replacement we need a proper dm in my opinion but then again I will assume any player working closely under simone will be disciplined and defensively minded enough.

He is lightning quick and excellent defensively. Great touch and a solid passer and solid vision. Perfect for the DM role. Honestly not getting why people don t think he can. He is also a superb CM and RB.

He would be a clear first choice player if he arrived.

Davey, a decent and multi-purpose squad player to give us what Milly/ Hendo would have offered. First choice no6. Nope.

I think people are forgetting how poor Fabinho and the rest of our midfield was last season.

Llorente would be a big improvement if he joined.

He’s a much more developed player than Thuram or Kone who are both very raw.

Navy, I don’t think anyone forgets Fab’s drop off. But you might want to ask how Llorente would stack up against Rodri, Caicedo (who looks to be set for Chelsea), Rice and Casemiro at our rivals. By all means add a Swiss Army knife like Llorente to the squad but we will also need a first choice in the no6 position if Fabinho completes his move.

If we want to compete that is.

100 percent disagree fly. I watched a lot of him. He is a first choice DM if that's where you want to play him.

And personally this discipline stuff you talk about for the position is nonsense. He plays according to the position he is assigned.

My concern with him is injuries. He is not a Thiago but he has picked up a few. I'd be a little weary in that regard.

I didn’t mention his discipline, Davey. But I see you’re sold on him.

Apologies Fly. You are right. I mixed you with another poster.

On talent, I'm 100 percent sold on him but injuries drive me mad.

My choice if Touchmeni is off the table is to get Lavia in. He is ready in my opinion to go straight in.

No worries Davey. Easily done.

Lavia seems to be one the club really wants to do. Probably still waiting for other things to be clarified before concluding it.

I’d still look at Manu Kone in addition, subject to the severity of his injury. Different to Lavia in style, but another duel winner that can play 6 and 8.

Gandooosi, Ugarte was never an option for us after Klopp tapped him up and evenChelsea walked away when they realized they had to pay more than the actual release clause. It is what it is.

As for Llorente, if he is who Klopp wants then so be it.
