Ed1
I read a post of yours the other day stating you HOPE the club go all in on Bellingham or if not him someone of similar quality

obviously Ed2 has stated that Bellingham is near enough dead in the water from our point of view (which I think we all accept is not happening and probably never was)

The club seem to be working on mac allister
Do you see him as equal or not far off or do you have someone else in mind as an adequate addition in the same or not far off bracket as Bellingham?

proper Brocken record time but I think Bellingham's game is just the perfect addition we need ( all action and can do pretty much everything very well)
and I can't think of anyone quite like him that could be available

Have you seen anyone else and thought if not Bellingham that's who we need

Cheers .

{Ed001's Note - nowhere near Bellingham, but he is a special talent and I am not sure there is anyone that could be bought that is near him. Though Trent has the potential, I would say. Other than that, the other options are all more about looking for other roles in the team to be honest, imo. There is no real alternative to Bellingham.}

Ed001, I appreciate if you’re not certain, or would prefer not to answer, but what is the main reason we have decided against perhaps making an offer for Bellingham? The club has signed transformational talents in the past, and Bellingham could provide a similar boost imo.

{Ed001's Note - I am not convinced we have decided yet. I think it was more about stepping away from the accusations of tapping up from Dortmund.}

Morning ed1. Where do u reckon Bellingham will end up?

{Ed001's Note - no idea, sorry.}

Its interesting the differing opinions between eds about certain things. Just curious, do you guys ever confer about a question or usually answer totally independently? Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - sometimes confer yes. Usually we answer independently though.}

No problem ed1. Whatever happens I hope he doesn't go to city, really would pull them away from rest about right.

{Ed001's Note - I dread that too, but I expect them to get Rice this summer and not go for Bellingham at all.}

I really like MacAllister. On paper of course Bellingham has the higher ceiling but MacAllister is proven in the Premier League and has an impeccable attitude towards the sport. I believe his infectious work rate on the pitch is the biggest factor in why Argentina won the World Cup; which I'm aware is a huge statement. They were awful against Saudi Arabia without him though, then never lost a game after he came into the side and showed his team mates that perspiration is just as crucial as inspiration.

Bellingham is physically and technically superior by a distance, but right now I think MacAllister has a significantly better understanding of the game mentally (which is to be expected really given he's 4 or 5 years older) . Decision making, positioning, movement off the ball and speed of thought is massive in the Premier League and MacAllister has that in spades. Which is why he can play as a 6, 8 or 10. Bellingham has only ever played International, Continental, and Bundesliga football. From what I've seen the time on the ball is so much more significant in those competitions and you don't get anywhere near as many teams who aggressively smother you.

If Jude develops the mental side of the game as well as MacAllister has though he'll be the best midfielder of his generation I think. He has everything else already which is pretty scary. Camavinga is the only one I can see who might rival him as a complete midfielder on that generational talent level. With any luck Bellingham stays at Dortmund and in the future he might be an option for us if our financial situation changes. Because if Madrid had Bellingham and Camavinga I think they'll dominate the Champions League for another decade.

Bellingham played for Birmingham don't forget MK. Bellingham is head and shoulders above Mac but Mac is still quality.

I could see Trent playing that box to box role. Take the RB responsibilities away from him and just let him roam free. As well as his class on the ball he's shown some really good tenacity to win tackles and chase back since he changed roles.

I agree on Trent, he could be unbelievable in midfield. Trent could be our best player next season.

I doubt Rice will go to City to sit on the bench. I think he will end up at Arsenal.

Bellingham and mcalistair for me. still not given up on jude.
Ox nabby milly and bobby on frees. Replace with free transfers where and if needed. Kelleher obviously looks like he will be sold.1 of matip or Joe gomez needs to go. And personally let thiago go. unreliable show pony.
I don't foresee a massive overall this summer. But those 2 mids would be enough until January atleast. The backbone and strength of the squad is still there. just a question where was it most of the season.

Saying Jude is a better player than Mac is no slight on Mac cos very few midfielders are as good as Jude to begin with, IMO. Trent as a footballer is top quality and technically top class. Should he realise his potential as a midfielder, I think he could get close to Jude, as well.

Mac is absolute quality (which tells you how great Jude is) and if we do sign him (even tho Edà1 doubts it cos he wants CL footie should we be in the EL) then, we would be getting a boss player on our hands. I fully believe that.

We really do love tapping up players do we Ed1? Is this something that Klopp been doing since his Mainz and Dortmund day Ed1? It basically mean that player that within our reach become unavailable because of this tapping up stuff.

{Ed001's Note - yes, he has always done it. All he needs to do is wait and get permission to speak to them. It is not difficult. I really don't understand why he has such difficulties with the laws.}

I have to say i am not 100% convinced the Bellingham to Madrid deal is done, I wasn’t even when all the news broke. I think Ed001 may be right, I’m not sure he or his club know what is going to happen yet.

For one, we have publicly announced that we have dropped our interest in the player, but this has happened several times and we have gone on to sign them.

Secondly, we were all led to believe a that a deal would be announced imminently a week or so ago. This was in spite of the fact that Dortmund were asking for far more than what Madrid were offering, and I have no idea where the notion that this could be resolved quickly was coming from.

Thirdly, and this really is a vintage bit of speculation for this site, i saw some footage of a goal bellingham scored recently. When he celebrated, it seemed like he was clearly shouting ‘i am flippin staying’ several times over to the supporters.

This could all very well amount to nothing, and in all honesty I probably will. However, I’m not sure the situation is as cut and dry as the media has made it out to be. The journos are contradicting themselves with every new story they put out, as has been the case all along.

Given all that, I don’t see how it can be possible that anybody actually knows where he is going to go. I give it like a 5% chance that we sign him, but I don’t think it is 0.

{Ed002's Note - I have explained the situation with Belligham and whatever the outcome it does not involve Liverpool.}

Do you know why the club has allow this Ed1? Is it because Klopp has bring so much success to the club that they are just going to keep their eyes close on this matter? He has become a huge figure at the club because of all the success that he bring.

{Ed002's Note - We don't know why they have not put a stop to this or other nefarious activities.}

I'm not the best at putting my thoughts into words so vary rarely post just browse, so I hope this makes sense and doesn't come across as being negative towards the ends or defensive of the issue.
Out of interest eds, klopp gets a lot of stick for tapping up players, but do you not think it's a bigger issue than just klopp. From my limited knowledge on this since fsg has been in charge we've had the dempsy situation, Stoke youngster, the scouts from city, a database issue I think it was with them. I have read somewhere saying liverpool prefer to deal with agents rather than directly with the clubs, I believe that's within the rules. but I imagine must rub the other clubs up the wrong way from the start. There seems to be no real leadership from the top, who ever the top in these situations to be able to rein klopp in when he overstep the boundaries, on speaking with players. To my limited knowledge it comes across as klopps the fall guy for the way the club works, as surley you'd get to the point where you'd make sure klopp doesn't have contact with players as they must have knowledge he's doing it especially when you're continually over paying for players and apologising to clubs to avoid being sanctioned.

{Ed002's Note - You are correct about the other issues you mention, and there have been others. There is no problem dealing with agents but dealing with players directly is not allowed, neither is dealing with relatives - such as speaking with Bellingham’s father. The blame for the hacking was likely not Klopp’s. But it is Klopp and not the club who is responsible for tapping up.}

Edd001 what makes Bellingham in you opinion so special? Passing, pace, maturity?

{Ed001's Note - all of those and movement, workrate, attitude, technique and composure.}

Well I wasn't very impressed with Bellingham's attitude when he was berating Schulz with expletives. Completely unacceptable to do that to a teammate and he wouldn't get away with it under Klopp.

Waro, you’re back. How’s the FSG out project going? You’ve been at it for a decade now and their still here? You don’t say. Well, all the best.

As for forming my own opinion, I’m good with that. Didn’t even read Ed01’s post so again, I’m good.
