For me Curtis jones has far too much potential attacking than playing as a deep controlling midfielder, although he is needed to help out there he should be doing what he does best running at defences, shooting and assisting. We are not seeing the full potential of his skill set.

Hailstones if Jones is to flourish under the Klopp system then, he needs to do whatever it takes to master it just like everybody else did before him. Why should he get a free pass? All the other mid’s are sacrificing part of their strengths to fit what Klopp requires of them ( See Gini and Elliott) so why should Jones be any diff? . Sorry, I disagree with your premise.

He also needs to move the ball quicker. But he's 20 years of age and still learning.

Thats fine mate after all I am no expert an its only an opinion, my thing is he can offer a lot closer to the goal shooting from range, committing players and causing problems . Its testament too how good he is that he has the ability to play both roles .
For England youth he plays wide left and does that job very well I am no Jurgen klopp but I would like too see him attacking more .

Hailstones, I actually agree with you that Jones would not be a bad shout out wide in the left however, he drifts out there when ever he has played on the left side of CM. He is a kid and still learning the game so not too worried about him. You don’t get to be a more than viable option for a Jurgen Klopp team if you don’t have a thing or two about you. Klopp does not give out flowers for free.

Let’s face it, he’s not ready to be anywhere near that first 11 but how can we sit here and criticise Jones. When all these players are out injured Yet Again. I swear they need to grow some Nuts some of them. We used to slate Gini but least he was available.

We really should have spent some money and replaced Gini. It’s likely to be the difference between being champions and also rans.

Nah guys this is not criticism at all not one bit, it's an opinion on what I have seen, I agree with L8 he shouldn't be near 1st team but coming off bench and integrating into 1st team . It all boils down to bad decisions in last transfer window we needed to replace wijnaldum with real quality (bissouma) or the likes and we never .

Hailstones always enjoy reading your posts mate but I’d disagree with you on this one. For me Jones was poor today and he’s come into a system that has won us a league and CL. Gini, Kieta and Thiago have had to vary their game to Klopp so Jones will have to conform otherwise his future might be away from the club as I can’t see Klopp changing the system for him.

Like I said Jones was poor today but he has had some good games in a midfield 3 for us so he’s proven he can do it. The next step for him now is to do it consistently.

There were a lot of players who didn’t perform today. The whole midfield were lacking. Firmino was shocking.

I don’t think there’s anything special about Jones. Elliott is the real deal. Jones certainly isn’t a ‘Klopp midfielder” I’d much rather Gallagher that Chelsea have out on loan.

I think Bobby finished with the highest pass percentage. For any Brighton player 🤣.

Bobby was magic against Man U but had a shocker today. For whatever reason 2 good games back to back is sadly beyond him. That finish he attempted can't be put into words.

{Ed0666's Note - you never have an off day mark? No he’s not the vintage Bobby but it’s all we have at the moment. I maintain this is Bobby’s last season

Well, all those who slated Wijnaldum now know what he used to do. Those gaps in midfield that Brighton were running through at will were the ones Gini used to close. 9 goals conceded against City, Brentford, Atletico and Brighton showed the frailties of a team lacking a player like Wijnaldum, who closed passing lanes and kept possession while his teammates got back into shape. The front players have been on fire, but they can’t be expected to outscore the opponents every game. The absence of Fabinho didn’t help, but Wijnaldum was so underrated.

I have many off days. But I can put 2 good days together. I agree it should be his last season.

Redmersey, and what did Gini used to do, exactly? You mean the same Gini that can barely get a game at PSG? Nah, bro don’t try to rewrite history to make you sound like the club was wrong in letting him go. If you think having him would have stopped us conceding goals vs these teams then I can’t help you. Didn’t know he played FB, CB and midfield all in one during a game while he was here.

Gini wouldn’t have done anything diff cos he too was guilty if not tracking his man and letting players run off him, which was rampant near all game long. Gini can’t even play the Fan role anyway so not sure am why you brought him up.

Gini is gone so let it go cos after all when we were pumping teams just a week ago, Gini’s name was never mentioned here BUT suddenly cos we didn’t win a game, hindsight is now being used as some kind of convenient mode to make people sound smart after the fact.

A draw against Brighton and it's hunt the scapegoat time.
It happens, we move on.

31 Oct 2021 07:14:25
Flash, it’s the way it is. Just last week we were kings of the world and just cos we drew vs Brighton, it’s cos we didn’t keep or replace Gini and/ or it’s cos FSG did not sign “insert random player here”. It will never end. I pity the Ed’s, really.

Can you imagine the slagging some of the younger players will get WHEN we finally lose a game?
The longer we go unbeaten, the more hysterical the outcry will be when it finally happens.
It really is comical stuff.

19.) 31 Oct 2021
31 Oct 2021 11:18:12
I’d rather have a loss and a win than 2 draws. Unbeaten doesn’t mean anything. Chelsea aren’t unbeaten and they’re ahead of us.

Olired, you're a wool who has never been to a game that's clear from your replies, how do I know? Because of the "owners and club can do no wrong" rhetoric you continually use, it's really really predictable and very very boring,
