Whilst I am sure I will get called out by the "top reds" fpr "whining" I think this window has seen the club unnecessarily roll the dice, yet again.

We did it last summer going in light at CB and paid cruelly with it. We doubled down in January and fortunately got away with it by getting top 4.

We're doing it again this year with risks in midfield and forward.

The fact that we will still be relying on Divock Origi off the bench to get a goal is a cold hard truth you cannot make excuses for.

Can we challenge for the big prizes? Yes. Have we chosen to make it more difficult than it needed to be? Absolutely. Was it necessary? I don't think it was.

{Ed001's Note - why will we 'still' be relying on Divock Origi? He barely played last season, so we were not relying on him then, why will we suddenly be relying on him now? It is just hyperbolic nonsense. Pointless trying to talk to people who just make up lies to try and push their point forward.}

People should really listen to Klopp's interviews more to temper their expectations.

He's been saying for about 2 years now that he sees Ox as an option as a centre forward. He's constantly backed Origi and Minamino. Everyone at the club was backing Gordon and Elliott all summer.

Klopp is very positive guy and he backs himself and his coaches to work with what they have. I highly doubt he was sat there screwing at 11pm last night. In fact i suspect he was probably in bed!

He is not the sort of manager who needs a constant turnover in playing staff to be happy. I'd go as far to say he is probably ecstatic the club as backed his players already at the club by tying them down to 4 or 5 year contracts.

I'd have loved a new forward. But i also believe that if Klopp had really pushed the issue we would have one. That leads me to believe he has faith in the players he has.

{Ed014's Note - always nice to read your posts MK 👍🏼

Cheers Ed014. I genuinely think we've had our dip now. From February 2020 until about March 2021 we were anywhere between inconsistent and poor. Lack of supporters was definitely a huge factor.

I really saw a lot of positives at the end of last season and the start of this one. We're coming back with a bang in my opinion. Anfield faithful back under the lights for European nights? Bring on No.7!

Ed001, I think you get my point. Divock Origi is still our striker option off the bench - 6 seasons later. When Klopp turns to the bench, he sees Divock on it. It's ok though because it's hyperbole and lies.

Ox as a centre forward?!
Don't see that from what we've seen off the ox when he's not injured.

Wonder if he's great during training.

Depends what you consider ‘rolling the dice’. I’d say that spending money we don’t really have on average players we don’t really need to appease fans who don’t really know what they’re talking about definitely sounds like ‘rolling the dice’. Or instead of going full Everton and blowing fees and wages on said average players like Traore and Sanches to make ourselves feel important, we could wait for the right targets to become available and the damage caused by CV to subside.

Maybe we’ll be able to buy Bissouma at some point in the future because we’ll be capable of paying the money up front. Maybe there’ll be a clearly desirable target for the forward positions that actually makes sense. Better to keep our powder dry and give more minutes to our youngsters than back ourselves into a financially strung corner chasing Transfer Market Clout, leaving ourselves unable to buy the players we really want when they are actually obtainable. It feels a bit disappointing now but in the long run i’m sure it will make a lot more sense. Let’s just be grateful we already have the squad to manage and a lot of young players breaking through who may get more minutes as a result of this.

{Ed014's Note - totally with you MK, a year to forget doesn’t mean the team and manager won’t again be challenging at the very top mate.

So much quality in that squad, It hasn’t just disintegrated in a puff of smoke.

Divock literally hasn’t been on the bench all season, Firmino has been the striker that we’ve brought off the bench and Jota is starting most games now. Your post is the dictionary definition of ‘hyperbole and lies’.

I thought you had more important things to worry about than who Liverpool buy or don't buy?
