Hi Ed001

I hope you well mate.

Just wanted your opinion please on Brandt. If we're to come available and we signed him do you see it as a god move for the club? Do you think he would fit in ok as his numbers are not amazing for last few seasons.

{Ed001's Note - Klopp rates him, so I will assume he knows enough to see something in him.}

Well Klopp did a great job with the Ox before injury. and he's improved a good number of our team.

I'd love Brandt at Liverpool. The last time we were seriously linked was the season before the World Cup and Brandt didn't want to risk being on the bench due to it hindering his World Cup chances.

It may be different now, and he's happy to fight for his place.

Brandt is the real deal, Ed. Been watching him since he was a youngster at the U-20 WC and the last Olympics (along with Max Meyer, Serge Gnabry etc) . The kid has near everything, IMO. He is quick (not fast), skillfull, two footed, can pick a pass, shoot, good at set pieces and can play every attacking position, bar the CF.

He was switched to the no. 10 role at Leverkusen with the arrival of Lyon Bailey and Kai Hevertz and has been solid there. I wanted him the first time Klopp went for him and I would be chuffed if we got him. Just my opinion.

Brandt reminds me of a young De Bruyne, personally. Judging by his performances in midfield this season, his passing range and vision is wasted as a wide forward just like it was for KDB. Brandt's pace isn't blistering (he's a powerful dribbler mind you) and even though he has great striking technique he's not much of a goalscorer. His weight of pass, choosing the right option, and vision to see a gap is just fantastic though. He's so creative from deeper areas but still has the power and energy to break forward instead of standing still to admire his pass. I'd like him at Liverpool for sure.

Seems like the type of player who would fit in our midfield. A deeper play maker who can run forward, as opposed to being in the ten position which Bobby usually fills.

I’m sure salah and mane would love balls from someone like him.

In a dream world, I’d love Bernardo silva, I rate him so highly, can play wing and midfield, full of energy, close control and scored goals.

If Brandt or someone like him can be that player for us, Great!

Your appraisal of Brandt is spot on, MK. Brandt may not be quick NUT he is physically strong and it was because of his passing ability that he was moved into the no. 10 role, to allow the likes of Bailey and Havertz (real wide players) to shine. I will say that Brandt plays on the left for Germany and IMO, beat out Leroy Sane for a spot in the German team for the last WC. He may not have the pace of a winger BUT plays out wide for Germany as some kind of meneur excentre (French for wide playmaker) .

I have said many times, Brandt having watched him since his teens, is the real deal. Many thought Max Meyer (his contemporary in the German youth ranks) would make the step up BUT I never thought so having watched both of them play. It was Brandt that caught my eye and still does. I hope Klopp goes back in for him cos he is already a star in Germany and will only get better under Klopp's tutelage, IMO.

{Ed0333's Note - Meneur excentre. You fancy 🤣
