Ok, I may get shot down here, but I'd like opinions on whether Modric could work for us for a couple of seasons or so?

I think it was Ed001 who was/ is a fan, and he's never really let the galactico tag get to him like it has with some others *cough* Welsh man bun boy *cough*.

Wouldn't cost the earth at 33, not sure about wages though. Could he be now what we all though Xabi could have been for us a couple of seasons ago? Ed001, if it was you who's a fan, would you think he would
Improve our team?

{Ed001's Note - I love Modric, but, for most of this season he has not been anywhere near the Modric of the World Cup. And during the World Cup he was playing against teams that were low tempo. Not for me, I think it is just too late for him to adjust back to the Prem. More's the pity. I would have loved Modric in a Liverpool shirt.}

Modric is technically brilliant I think he could do a great job if used properly. He has been playing in a team that is all over the place at the moment and he is having to do everything himself.

If we get OX back fit next year and add Modric that would be more than enough in midfield for me.

Ed why did FDJ go for only £60m or so, he looks like he will be a superstar. I have a feeling if we wanted him he would have cost a lot more.

{Ed001's Note - seriously? A superstar? I have not watched him all that regularly but he never looked like a superstar. Looked a decent player but nothing more.}

Maybe the 2 or 3 games were not a true reflection. When I watched him he was a cut above. Time will tell I suppose.

I really like frenkie de jong, he's a top talent but you're also paying for potential. He's a great Busquets replacement for Barcelona and 60m is about right in this mess of a transfer market. But he wouldn't fit our style of play anyway, plus we have Fabinho and Henderson.

I get the fact that luca is old but his passing ability could be a real asset for us in certain games.

He’s got great vision and is technically very good.
Definitely a place for him as a fringe player but I would think he wants to start games.

If we lost Milner I’d take modric, he would still do a job against the bottom half, and some. Even if he is not his usual self, a summer off and not having to play as much he’s still got a lot to give and teach. Someone like Keita should look at him for a mentor. Is there anyone playing now that has what he has last season. Even if it’s not that level, it’s still a bloody good one.
