Hi Ed’s,

It’s been mentioned that the pressing game is difficult to maintain over the course of a full season so klopp has changed our playing style in a bid to try to get us over the finish line this year.
Do you believe that last night vs Watford is the first time this season that we have been allowed to really use the press?
Has klopp saved this tactic for later in the season so we have some fuel left in the tank and we can use the free flowing attacking football for the remainder of the season?

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

Our strength lies in High press and high attacking. The rest all are complimentary to the system. We should stick with this tactics and add players that allows the manger to rotate without burining the engine. I do not believe In changing the tactics ( My opinion and has been from day one )
We look a different animal when we press and play the game like yesterday.
Full backs bombing high up dragging players, committing bodies into the 6 yard box, it’s a treasure to the eyes.
We are a counter press team and should stick with it imo.
Not saying klopp is wrong just having an opinion on our style of play.

I forgot that one defeat in 28 had nothing to do with our immensely improved defence 😳

Your opinion changes like the bloody wind harry mate.

It makes sense if that's the case. Of course you have to change your tactics. They are tweaked for every game, depending on the opposition and what players we have available.

I really hope we see the press more in the run in. Blitz Everton and I'll be very happy. I think we will win all our games, maybe draw one. And I think City will lose to someone, utd maybe.

Sorry Ed do you think Klopp has actually been holding back from the press reserving energy’s for a push in games from now on then?

{Ed001's Note - yes, it was felt from the data that the players ran out of steam last season in the final weeks. The plan, as I have been saying all season, was to make sure that did not happen again and to slowly turn the wick up, so to speak, as the season went on. So that, when it matters at the business end of the season, we can go at it full throttle.}

If that is the case Ed001, it seems as though the man united performance could be the catalyst and kick up the arse the manager and players need. A realisation that it is time to play to our strengths and go full throttle again. Given we are 1 point clear and seem to have restrained ourselves to this point, and with City eyeing up the champions league, plus their injuries and the intensity they have been playing at this season, as well as unfavourable fixtures; is everyone feeling confident going into the final stretch? I am pledging to myself to enjoy it and go into every game with confidence, but not cry if it doesn’t happen. The lads have made me immensely proud this season and have come a long way, regardless of who wins what.

Thanks Ed, I like the sound and the thought of that mate very much, although more risk of injuries no doubt going full gas ⛽️. Let’s hope it works mate in the remaining ten games.

{Ed001's Note - injuries happen anyway, no point worrying about that.}

He's picking and choosing when to use it perfectly so far, has made us less predictable. Home to Watford was perfect time to let the shackles off as he knew the fans and players needed that after Sunday. I wouldn't expect him to apply this every game though.

Shaq

One defeat has no relevance if we finished 2nd to a team that lost 4 games already. Immensely improved defense have Allison, VVD and Gomez to thank for.
Why don’t you drop Allison and play Mignolet there and try this tactics?

To be honest I remember will ramped up the press for a few matches in December as well (e. g. Napoli, Arsenal) .
I do hope we sustain it now till the end of the season. Having options in midfield to rotate will certainly help. Just hope our full backs and forwards can sustain momentum till the end of the season.

Spot on, Klopping. We have played the press several times this season already and have pummeled teams like B'mouth twice, Arsenal, Newcastle, Napoli, PSG etc. Why? Cos the occasion demanded it. Not sure we will be doing that at Everton on the weekend except of course, the situation allows it. I like you, don't expect that to change.

For those who keep saying we should stay with this tactic, Ed has already said repeatedly why Klopp made the choice and in fact, Klopp has addressed it and it has worked so far hence, saying Klopp should od what you want, is irrelevant cos he won't.
