Was having a discussion with a few friends about the best players never to win a Premier League. We settled on a top 3 of Gerrard, Zola and Di Canio. Just thought I'd put it on here to see other people's suggestions and input.

{Ed0333's Note - is that true Zola never won a Premier League title? I’m shocked as I though he had. I would say for me Xabi Alonso/Luis Suarez and Fernando Torres’s have to to be in the reckoning also mate.

I'd also be tempted to put in Ledley King aswell. Didn't really want to put Suarez in given his off field antics but talent wise for sure. I can't believe I didn't think of Xabi though, that's awful of me.

Coutinio has to be worth a shout too. But it's Gerrard isn't it. You got modric too, Gareth bale.

Modric is a Shout, I might have to make a top 5 now instead hahaha. It's unreal the amount of quality this league has had. I'd say Okocha aswell but he was at the tail end of his career. Cracking player though.

Such a good question! So many players. Fowler, Gerrard, Xabi Alonso, Desailly, Zola, Gasgoine, Hoddle, Jimmy Greaves, Bobby Moore. I'm not sure I can pick three players from that small list. But I'll just randomly pick Moore, Fowler and Zola.

Alonso was great but when at Liverpool Gerrard was easily our best player. There wasn't even a debate. Stevie could have joined any team in the world and won the trophies Alonso did, but he stayed loyal to Liverpool during one of the worst spells in 60 years. He will always be my hero and I don't think he gets the credit from us fans that he deserves. He was better than Alonso, better than modric or bale. Better than zola or Di canio.

I think stevie g is widely regarded as the best player not to win the league by everybody but Liverpool fans.

Yep, Ed333. Sad but true. Zola (one of the best players I have ever seen) never won the PL. As for a great player who never won the PL, you can put Matt Le Tissier in that bracket as well. Brilliant player!
