Ed002.

I bet you're glad there's not so many "FSG OUT " posters on here, especially after JWHenry has just claimed the Red Sox will have the biggest wage-bill in baseball this season and they they should always be trying to win the World Series,

He also went on to say on NBC Sports
"We have an obligation to try to win the World Series every year, "

For me Ed002, they are not directly comparable. It's two different sports ( obviously ) and countries and I would say with different revenue streams, wage structures and sponsorship deals? I don't know but I'm also correct in saying Baseball does not have the financial commitment in the transfer of players?

They aren't the perfect owners and have made mistakes but I'm one of those that is not against them, at the end of they day football is now a business and it has been since Murdoch got his claws into the game back in1992

The only thing I would say, is that they are very vocal when it comes to the Red Sox and I get that, but I do feel they could be a little more vocal with our club - within the media

I follow JWHenry on twitter and every time ( not very often mind you ) he tweets about Liverpool, the barage of negative comments is un real. As a Liverpool fan for over 35years, I've never felt so embarrassed.

I like to voice my opinion and stick the boot in then the team under performs, nothing like some of these idiots on twitter that clearly know nothing.

{Ed002's Note - You cannot compare the finances of baseball and football. The way transfer fees compare to player contracts does not directly correlate but the amounts of money involved is not entirely dissimilar. The Red Sox are one of the more valuable franchises - perhaps 3rd or 4th - but it will be a long way behind the Yankees. Remember there are far, far more professional soccer teams than baseball teams. The Red Sox pay for themselves and return a profit. Liverpool don't.

As for being vocal, you want them to be more like David Sullivan at West Ham? When did you last hear from the owners of Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea etc.? Do you think it would be good if they followed in Sullivan's mould and JWH can have his son make decisions about the players to buy and share it on Twitter?

Maybe the abuse on Twitter is one reason he is not more like David Sullivan. I imagine Mike Ashley also has a Twitter account.}

Excellent owners with the club the fans and the area at heart. Just don't get these supporters who think they're just in it for profit, clearly they want to make us the best team in Europe as the transfer of Virgil Van Dijk shows, look at the success we've had and the vast amounts they've spent since they took over the club, bailing us out to the tune of a million pounds a week. We'd of gone out of business if it wasn't for them remember, because there wasn't anyone else in the world who would touch us. God bless John "dubaya" Henry and Tom Werner, God bless and God speed. ♥️♥️♥️😵😵.

Even at their worst and are in it just for the profit. If they sell up and pass on a profitable club, bigger stadium and a competitive squad with a world class manager at the helm, haven't they then also done the best for the club?

I don't disagree with some of the points you make Waro and i have made similar comments before, especially our lack of success under Fsg ownership. The issue i always come back to is if Fsg sell up who takes over and are they any better? Do you know any multi billionaires just in it for the love of the game? I just can't see it, under todays rules it won't make much difference what owners we have.

{Ed025's Note - i cant see what FSG have done wrong irish?, have they improved the ground...yes, are you in for the top players...yes, did they employ the best manager in the country..yes, sometimes people just like to moan for the sake of it mate..

Have they won much Faithinworks? Surely that is the messure of success at a football club? That has to be the aim?

{Ed025's Note - rome was not built in a day irish...although i have worked with some irish guys who if they were on it would have made it close..

What I still can't figure out is, if FSG aren't good owners, what do good owners look like?

Is Abramovich good because he poured personnel wealth into the club? That's not a realistic expectation for owners.

Is a good owner someone who keeps prices down and has a collaborative relationship with the fans? If so show me and owner like that that's had top level success.

I just don't know what the standard is that FSG are judged poorly against.

Steven Gerrard saved us from mid table obscurity for years. Things have changed dramatically for the better in fsg era. Are they from Liverpool? No, and neither are most of the supporters. Are they in sport to make money? Yes. Am I the only one who is glad we have owners who want to make liverpool a profitable club? Coz the alternative is a club that loses money.

Simply put. Have things improved with fsg? Yes. That's it. Yes they have.

That’s exactly what I said, the two sports aren’t comparable Ed002.

I didn’t say JWH needs to be more vocal on social media - twitte, far from it in fact.

I’m not interested in these Sugar Daddy owned clubs like City and Chelsea and what Roman Abramovich say. s or doesn't day. Nor do I care about MU, the Glaxers and the Green and gold brigade.

JWH gave an interview on NBC sports regarding the Boston Red Sox and how they need to be challenging every season. In my opinion, if JWH gave an interview regarding LFC, that would be great.

My opinion of course.

{Ed002's Note - Basically your post was pointless. You bring up baseball and you are talking about NBC Sport when I assume you don't understand the circumstances that have to be met for him to give an interview. You keep hoping to hear the preachings of JW most high.}

They are businessmen at the end of the day and have made mistakes. And their feelings for LFC would never be the same as the Boston Red Sox.

But they’re decent owners.

I have always liked the owners. I think they have been doing a pretty decent job all in all.

{Ed025's Note - i agree alastair..

What have we won to suggest they're doing a good job? The birds are singing and the sky is blue when we're winning a few games but the bottom line is they are terrible owners (venture capitalists of the worst kind) and we'll win nothing of significance while they are in charge (unfortunately) which is why Ed025 can't see what they're doing wrong, when he agrees with me about them that's when you will know they are doing a good job.

Why should a guy who has been a business man for a long time suddenly sign up for twitter to tell you what sauce he had on his hotdog. I'm glad the owners are grown ups. Social media has a lot to answer to.

I also agree that the owners have done a good job, I always wonder if some fans are always quick to judge our owners simply because they are American after the 2 Cowboys that was in charge before them? I think FSG run the company like a business, ofcourse they are business men, they want the same as what every person wants, a return for what they buy. Yes the owners should be judged on the basis of success and trophies won, however we are moving in the right direction. I feel we are gathering a squad capable of success, the owners are smashing our own transfer records year on year now, remember 10 years ago our highest transfer record was 20million for Torres, now we are paying 75million for defenders, we have a top class manager who players will want to play for, we have extended our stadium to 54000 seats, and further plans to take it to 61000 seats, making it the 5th largest stadium in English football.

I think mistakes were made when the owners first arrived at the club, PR disasters and listening to the wrong people etc, but I feel the owners now are doing things the right way, I would prefer owners like FSG compared to a Mike Ashley or an Abramovich, I like that they are silent owners, because there is no need for them to be talking about this or that, because there is more chance they could say something that will end up being slated by the press. We slowly are building, and I always felt that the goal this season was to do as well as we can in the Champions league and also qualify for Champions League for next season, and we are on track to do both really. It is amazing to be once again in the latter stages of the CL and also to be in the top 3 of the League, we have a very good chance to finish 2nd this year. The last time we finished back to back seasons in the top 4 was 07/ 08 and 08/ 09 seasons, so we need to be realistic, i don't think we are quite ready for a title push but i feel we are getting there and it is because of the owners. Sadly i feel our fans these days though will slate the owners and the manager at the slightest bad result, it is nice that the anti owner posts have subsided for now.

{Ed002's Note - There are no plans for 61k seats.}
