Would it be worth having a look at getting David Luiz as a CB in January if he is not wanted by Conte at Chelsea?

When they won the league last season he seemed to be a big player for them.

He could also play as a defensive midfielder.

Might be an astute and possible January signing?

Not in a million years, Tommy. He is to me, poison to a manager. He is as unreliable and undependable as they come. There is a reason he got booted out of Chelsea by Mou then by PSG as he is lazy, a show pony and a liability on the pitch even tho, he is supremely talented. Sorry, I would rather take Klavan as at least we know what you will get from him esp. when we defend deep in certain situations.

I would love to get him but sadly I think he wouldn't be particularly interested in joining us.

If you had the option of VDV at 70m or Luiz for what I would assume would be in the 30-40m who would you go for?

Luiz any day of the week for me.

Luiz would not be an improvement on the defenders we have. Makes too many mistakes.

He's the better defender out of the two and we need someone who can defend.

Loris, Luiz is not show pony. When chips are down he is the one rallying the troops, you will never see Hendo doing that. There were times he single handedly haul Chelsea back into game. He can play DM, CB . Luiz influence beyond jus my defence, he doggedness and energy makes him very difficult to play against, you got to watch him when Chelsea go behind, he is like the war cry rallying the troops. We need someone like him.

Yeah Sure Relaxla has nothing to do with the fact it was Kante who single handed protected those CBS not to mention they played a variation of a back 5 with Alonso and Moses as Wingbacks, he had the cover to mess up which he did plenty of times last year.

Chelsea's entire defense looks a shambles without Kante manning the midfield. Its no coincidence that they kept a clean sheet the moment Kante returned. Luiz along with Cahill is part of Chelsea' defensive frailties. Hardly an inspiring signing for our defense which needs discipline and has no Kante protecting it.

Relaxia, The David Luiz you described exists only in an alternate reality as he does not exist in the real world. Kante and Matic makes any defence look good and the minute they were absent, they and Luiz in particular, were shown to be pants. There is a reason Conte is fed up with him. He is poor, lazy, unreliable and undependable. That is the reality, IMO.
