Hi ed01, don't you think Firmino has to be dropped for Sturridge? We need a "Harry Kane" alongside Mane and Salah.

{Ed001's Note - no, Firmino might need a rest but certainly not dropping and Sturridge was terrible last night, there is no way he did enough to push himself ahead of Firmino.}

Not related to the OP (apologies RE), but Ed do you think any team will be strong enough to challenge Real Madrid this season?
I don't know what it is about them, but they are just a machine at the moment.

{Ed001's Note - considering they have only won half of their league matches, they are a machine with a lot of niggles in the machinery.}

Danny would need at least a full season without any disruption to come back to his old! He has lost that pace and takes that extra bit of touch! His technique is still first class! That half volley he blasted above the GK proves it!

If we're going to start dropping Firmino for anyone (apart from the odd rotation) it would have to be a striker we can trust to lead the line game in game out. and Sturridge isn't that player, not sure he will be ever again.

I agree I think firmino looked a little jaded but nothing more and to e fair the guy is on the go the whole game every game so it's to be expected.

Agreed Johnbarnes on Firmino. His touch was off and he seemed to be snatching at chances as his last chance when he blazed over w/ o even looking at where the goal was, showed. He may need a rest but Studge was useless as well so there you go.

Firmino has cost us the game. Simple. Stop papering over the cracks and looking for excuses.
I don't get the whole pussy footing Around the Players, if they've played terrible just say it.
The Game has gone, we blew it. Now bring on Newcastle and start scoring all these chances.

Firmino looks like he has a touch of pub player at times. Was aweful yesterday.

He can't play any other position other than pretending as a striker. Pressing striker.

But can't fault him for efforts. Solankee should be getting few more oportunities.

Can is ever so lucky.

Cheers.

Fowler, the whole forward line cost us the game, not just Firmino as Salah and Studge were just as guilty as he was. Stop scapegoating individual players whereas the whole forward line was crap.

Bingo the post was about firmino. But yes of course the whole team is to blame. So they need to come out and beat Newcastle, shooting practice needed beforehand.

Firmino was piss poor last night- from the start his touch let him down and as a Brazilian international he should be finding team mates in the box for a tap in instead of playing it behind them.
He should also have buried that header in the first half.
Hope Klopp realises soon that we need a specialist top drawer striker who will convert theses chances.
