According to Barcelona we wanted €200m for couts. Then they thanked the player for the efforts he made, that last sentence is just a wind up to lfc fans.

Reckon it was LFC telling Barcelona that they were wasting time and effort like they have all summer long.

{Ed002's Note - No, it was Liverpool changing the price when they spoke with other teams - it is unprofessional or stupid. They need to get their act together.}

Classy.
It's just a shame we can't take the moral high ground.

Or pehaps they just changed the price due to the market like any other team would. Before the window it was €100m we quoted and because of how mad that window was we adjusted our price accordingly. Allegedly to €200m. If you want to buy a player another team doesn't want to sell you have to pay more than he's worth. In that market he was worth £140-150m as a fee with minor performance related addons. So if he's worth that as I believe then Barcelona have to pay way more than that because we didn't want to sell. So pay €200m around £20-30m more than he's worth and he's yours.

{Ed002's Note - Know, it is simply unprofessional and stupid. You don't need to scratch around looking for excuses for the club.}

Lol at ed0002. For years he claims how Lyon give 2 different prices and never calls them unprofessional. Maybe put it like you would if Liverpool were the buying team- Barcelona knew the price. if they wanted the player then match the price they were given. So funny the double standard you use sometimes.

I respect you and usually like your comments although I have noticed that when Liverpool try buy a player for cheaper you say how Liverpool need to match the asking price, yet when we're the selling club and another team offers less than we want then that's because we have overpriced the player. It's weird out targets never get overpriced according to you.

{Ed002's Note - There is no double standard here I am afraid. It is nothing to do with Lyon, who are difficult but certainly not unprofessional. Liverpool have spent the last 6 months being entirely unprofessional and now are looking stupid as well. Klopp got none of the targets he wanted for this season - not one. Perhaps thes lesson will be learned that trying to cheat doesn't always work out?

These attempts to deflect are very, very embarrassing.}

Edd002 correct me if I'm wrong because I wasn't on the page for parts of the window especially the start of it. Where his preferred options brandt, the young Fulham left back (sessegnon / spelling), van dijk and keita (for this season)?

{Ed002's Note - Correct Al. They were the players Klopp briefied certain members of the press over in April.}

Ed'02 giving out about Liverpool is just something you have to get used to on this page.

{Ed002's Note - Sorry, I appreciate Liverpool fans don't like the truth. They are happy with some fat kid from Bolton confirming the signing of players like van Dijk, Keita, meeting the release clause of "Seri" and everything else.}

Disagree with you on this Ed02.
The club signs the player to a 5 year deal. The club issues a statement saying he is not for sale this summer at any price. The club does not sell the player. The rest is just rumour and gossip and there are plenty of sources nowadays making these up on an hourly basis. On this supposed deal, many of those are in Barcelona getting clickbait and selling papers.

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure what part you are disagreeing with. The club held meetings with KJ, PSG and Barcelona about the sale of Coutinho. I explained the situation as it was.}

Agree with Jason.

{Ed002's Note - Really, would you like to explain just how and where Lyon has been unprofessional this summer? Tell us all about the 12 year old boy that you think Lyon wrecked the career of; the lies they told to a formal investigation and their attempts to get others to lie; the complaints made by other clubs about illegal approaches; the fines they have or the transfer ban they are serving. I will be more than happy to go through it with you.}

I think liverpool were right, the scale of the average transfer changed before our eyes during that window, so why wouldn't they try to get the best price they could.
Yes they cheated re their targets, tapping up etc. But this is unrelated I think.

{Ed002's Note - And you are OK with Liverpool lying to the fans.}

i always respect your views ed but i disagree with you on this point. When a player is to be transfered or when he is on transfer market, he is a commodity. His value increases based on the demand. Liverpool may have quoted €100, but the way the prices shotup post neymars transfer, there is nothing wrong with what they did. And whether you like it or not, according to everyone the only team who is looking stupid out of this episode is Barcelona. Its unfair to blame klopp for not getting his preferred targets except for VVD where he screwed up badly.

{Ed002's Note - Klopp screwed up on attempting to unsettle Sessegnon and the views of two people at Fulham that made matters clear that Fulham would not sell him to Liverpool, his attempt to unsettle and his illegal approach to Brandt where he was told he had no interest as Klopp couldn't guarantee him a star, his atyempt at upsetting Keita and an illegal approach which ended with Liverpool making a significant financial commitment for next season and the attempt to unsettle van Dijk, the illegal approach, the meeting with the player, the continued communication, the trail of slime laid down by the owners and the board trying to avoid a further charge for the club. If Klopp was a professional then the situation would not be anything like as bad as it is. Unfortunately he is not.}

Lied to the club or kept are business as private as we can despite constant leak and statement from Barcelona and their player re:coutinho.
Yes mistakes are made, yes inappropriate behaviour. but unfortunately this is modern football. I despise it but lfc are not the only ones. Lots are at it both Madrid clubs and Barcelona themselves have had transfer bans. Psg are under investigation and man city are facing a transfer ban. Lfc are not saints but neither are a host of other clubs.
With regards to our transfer dealing I am rather pleased with the hard stance the club are taking on sales. Sahko as an example they stood firm and got the money they wanted. years ago that would ended in a season loan with option to buy and the player would then not be bought. Lfc are difficult to deal with. good, it's about time. coutinho stays, again years ago would have been sold for under value like Suarez was.
If other clubs fans don't like it, I don't really care, I am interested in one club. Liverpool fc.
And as a nieve, knuckle dragging fool, I'm happy to see no longer be pushed around.

Rant over. sorry.

{Ed002's Note - Others are bad - Liverpool are the worst and seemingly a lot of the fans are proud of the attempts by Klopp and the club to cheat.}
