In the two weeks leading up to the game I thought we'd be lucky to get a win and most likely get a draw (even though I got caught up in it at the ground last night and put a bet on 6-3 and a Mane hat-trick! )
What I don't understand is Man United's approach. Our defence hadn't kept a clean sheet, Karius is still finding his feet and him breaking his hand has definitely had an effect on his confidence in coming for crosses.
So why did they not try and go for it?
For all this "United dominated the first half" talk, all they had to show for it was a cross from Rashford and two ballooned shots by Ibra and Pogba.
I just don't understand their approach.
I am so so so made up we've got Klopp and that Mourinho is nowhere near us.
Just look at the difference in the way we approach an away game against our rivals.
They won't be able to be so negative at home as United fans (I hope! ) will not stand for it.
Anyway, the big thing to take from last night is a clean sheet, We were in desperate need of one and if we can be as solid as that in future games then we will begin to concede less.
2 points off top!
YNWA!

We need a top top keeper for the first team squad.

Karius may be 2 years from being the finished product.

Imagine having someone like Buffon behind your back four the difference it would make.

At the moment I feel that Danny Ward is our brightest prospect. If we are going to give it a couple of years i'd sooner see Ward in goal. But for now he is best at Huddersfield on loan. I can't help but feel that Karius needs to show signs of improvement quickly or he could lose his place to Migs.

The impatience with Karius is really doing my head in. people should just stop putting unnecessary pressure on the boy. he knows what is expected of him and he needs to be supported just like DDG was supported by Fergie. He`s only played FOUR measly games yet many want him out for the GK who has played for three years UNCHALLENGED and has proven to be below average at the very best. That makes no sense at all. The Buffon a poster speaks of, started at the age of 16 and if you think he was the finished product then, then you are fooling yourself. His debut was against AC Milan parading a certain George Weah. He was okay but not great. It took 4-5 years before he became the beast he his now and I would hope many would give him at least the 3 years Mingo was given to prove himself and if he`s not the one, we still have Danny Ward who can step in as Mingo IMO, has proven to be a flop there should be NO going back to him.

thankfully klopp thinks different I just don't understand this witch hunt against karius, the lad has barely unpacked his suitcase, reina and dudek had shakey moments and we stuck by them, we should give karius the same courtesy.

Spot on, KK7. It seems that many have forgotten how awful Mingo has been throughout his LFC career and thankfully, Klopp doesn`t have a short memory and neither do the rest of us who think Karius will come good. but I agree, he`s no Buffon, at least not yet.
