I didn't watch the game last night but judging from the min by minute report I did read

Benteke is the reason we lost the game for a lack of finishing

Would that be right?

A bit harsh today we lost because of him, but he did have a good 3 or 4 chances to score last night.

Texeira also missed a very good chance.

David N'Gog would've had a hattrick last night mate. Smith, Teixeira, Sturridge, Origi, Ibe and Coutinho created about 8 clear cut chances for him and he fluffed his lines every time and then laughed about it.

Have a look at Coutinho's set piece delivery and free kick goal though. He was superb. Shame he had to come off due to lack of match fitness really! Stewart and Chirivella bossed the midfield for about 105 minutes. So much so that West Ham played route one football all game. In fact, we were so much the better side that they resorted to diving for the last hour or so of the game.

We literally lost because all of our chances fell to Benteke, because a lucky deflection looped the ball over Smith for their first, and because Valencia was throwing himself to the floor when Lucas or Ilori breathed on him. Lots to be positive about. Ilori looked good all game. Had Payet in his pocket which takes some doing. Even Mignolet made some good saves although he was still dodgy with balls into the box. Texeira and Coutinho looked like a pair of twins with telepatic link up.

Stewart and Smith should be starting in the league though. Can and Moreno are not playing as well as they are, pure and simple.

Totally agree EMS, Moreno countless times gets himself in a great position to deliver a cross and constantly fluffs his lines, in fact it's been that way for months now, time for a change.

Ems migs never had a good game, doesn't command his area, cannot organise a piss up in a brewery, and his position is and was terrible.

In the league matches we should now try and blood in Stewart, Smith and Flannagan. All at the moment playing better than the current players in their position. Put Coutinho back in and replace Lallana or Milner and see how we go.
