Good post muscatred and I agree. Would add that he needs to find a plan B even if we do get better at plan A. So far I haven't seen a change in systems or style when needed. Hope he learns and implements.

Agreed. It's as much his set up and instructions to get forward than just getting in another defender. He needs a natural holder in midfield who is tactically aware. The players in front of the defence need to understand positional awareness to protect the back four. You can't legislate for individual errors though - in 2 games Lallana, Clyne and Moreno have cost us goals.

Agreed. 3 CAMS (number 10's) is not the best situation playing in the three roles in the 4-2-3-1 formation. I think it should consist of 1 number 10 and 2 wingers who can be inverted- the Reus type players and even the Milner type who can get up an down, invert and can add industry to midfield if the 2 holders are getting swarmed.

{Ed001's Note - they are the same thing. It really is impossible to say until his recovery is assessed. Some people never get over an injury like that, some people take years, others takes months and some are pretty much back to speed in a couple of weeks. As he will have a full preseason, he might well only need a few weeks of the season to get back to form.}

In the league matches we should now try and blood in Stewart, Smith and Flannagan. All at the moment playing better than the current players in their position. Put Coutinho back in and replace Lallana or Milner and see how we go.
