Rossiter's positioning has been great but I've never seen a player more reluctant to take a pass. Tonight probably wasn't the best night to bring him on and especially for Lucas. Nerves have got to him.

He was organising. Talking and pointing where the ball should go,he didn't want it at 1 point because milner was sat in the middle free with 15 yards, and Ibe Benteke and he were on the wing, passing it,he gave it to ibe with the angle to get it to Milner and Ibe looked to give it him back. There's a difference between shying away and organising the play

Unless Lucas was injured or running out of puff - then subbing him has got to be the craziest decision I've ever seen!!!!!!

Totally agree, but can you really blame him? He came on while we were doing everything we could to hold onto a draw. It was a really tight game, and I'm sure he was deathly afraid of making a mistake that would lead to a goal. He was playing tentatively, but I did see glimpses of potential. He had a few good tackles on the edge of the box and I don't think he misplaced a pass all night. I'm sure next opportunity he gets he will be more calm, he just got caught up in his own head tonight. Overall, I'm happy with the performance tonight. I thought we deserved a draw, and the defensive display in the second half was top notch.

You could see it clearly somefella, he was gassed. For me he has to start with Henderson and Milner.

I swear that sub was BR trying to make it look like he doesn't need Lucas when he quite clearly does.

That being said, Rossiter deserves a chance and I was delighted to see him come on.

I noticed that bob but still feel he could offer himself up as an option while organising. It's not necessary for him to be static. It should come with confidence n experience though.

I agree red eyes. Though wouldn't it have been more sensible to bring on Toure - he is experienced and vocal, he has played as a defensive mid before and was replacing Lucas who was sitting in front of the cbs for the entire 2nd half.

In hindsight though, they didn't score so the experience of that pressure can only do rossiter a world of good.

Red T he was the option,he was still available, the preference is the pass to another player in space in the centre to drive forward than down a channel that's already narrow
