Has anyone else noticed the spring in Lucas' step these past few games? He seems to eat up the ground and his reading and breaking-up of play is exceptional.
I've noticed that Moreno has improved greatly too. Lallana also.
Klopps the man!

I thought there was even an improvement in Allen and Lovren last night. Ok it was only against Bournemouth, but you can only play what's in front of you and so far there is obvious signs of players confidence and abilities returning.

2.) 29 Oct 2015 15:13:03
Thats what has been fantastic for me is that even players who have been perennially underperforming are looking better. Allen played well in the second half, and I love Klopp talking to all the players afterwards on the pitch.

3.) 29 Oct 2015 15:19:03
I agree on Lucas and Allen (someone I have been quite critical of before), his yellow was harsh, it was a tackle that turned in to a slip. In fact, there was a lot of slipping last night, not sure if this was stud choice or overwatering.

Also was that the highest number of interceptions we have had in a game?

Lovren I am afraid seems to be afraid of his own shadow, he really is a poor reflection of his former self.

I liked the look of all the youngsters, I thought they slotted in well, some of the things they were trying was great to see.

Ibe seems to have his confidence back.

Looked like Lovren picked up an injury just before Lallana was coming on, and Klopp was going to put Moreno on instead. but the 4th official had already put the numbers on the board and didn't seem inclined to change his mind.

not the best performance, but much to be encouraged by, Klopp said in post match that the boys only trained for 1hr with the new formation. So Saturday should prove to be much more interesting.

Origi needs to eat a few more steaks, he is too light to be up top by himself, his shooting pre match was solid, (I know its not match conditions etc) but sometimes the shooting they do prematch is terrible.

4.) 29 Oct 2015 16:43:28
Origi i think is suited out in a wider position. Looks more comfortable getting the ball on the wing. He's quick and played his part in the goal from a wide position.

Good performance, Nice to get a win under our belt!

5.) 29 Oct 2015 18:30:12
Thought Origi did ok last night up against Distin. Man U mate of mine said he thought he was weak but he seems like a big strong boy to me!

6.) 29 Oct 2015 19:53:06
I wouldn't pick Allen for my Sunday side.

7.) 29 Oct 2015 22:44:30
Allen should never play without a DM. He did that vs Rubin and in the first half last night and was dreadful. Only until Lucas came on did he improve slightly. IMO, Allen is a squad guy and nothing more. He offers little going forward, can't score, can't defend hence, not good enuff to start.

Like him or loath him, the one undeniable fact about Brendan Rodgers is his poor utilisation of players. Why, oh why does he insist on playing players out of the position they've played-in all of their footballing lives!?
Can is not a defender. Gomez isn't a left back (and in fact would make a great centre back if played there). He played Ings on the left side of midfield a couple weeks back. Markovic at wingback?! What's that about??? There are countless examples. Perhaps it's me? Could someone please shed light on why he repeatedly does this?

It happens a lot with all managers and usually it's a sign of desperation. Rafa did the same too. It's one of the signs they are about to lose their job in my observations.

2.) 27 Sep 2015 12:39:04
But Rodgers has been doing it for years and is still here Ron.

3.) 27 Sep 2015 13:18:11
That's the thing no one understands. Why not spend 300 mil on players to fill the positions we needed?? He has no excuse for not having one of the best squads in Europe let alone the epl, he just doesn't know what to do with it. Our team when he first started would probably beat our team of today.

4.) 27 Sep 2015 13:21:33
If Rodgers sticks with this 3-5-2 formation, and if he stays beyond November, we will have a serious problem on our hand. Moreno and Clyne are naturally a good fit for this wing back roles, but if either of them gets injured, who steps in? Enrique will not play for LFC again and I think Flanagan will not be fit for a while yet. I won't be surprised if he goes and plays players out of position in case of an injury to one of the full backs.

5.) 27 Sep 2015 13:28:39
Has he really been doing it for years?

He did it about 10 months ago when he started playing Markovic/Ibe out of position and it was an open secret that FSG were evaluating their options, Rodgers admitted he feared the sack then. Other than that I don't really see it.

6.) 27 Sep 2015 13:49:16
Ron how about the countless games he played Lucas out on the left to accommodate gerrard? I'm a big fan of Lucas but he's mediocre at best in that role. Why put our best DM on the left? All it did was make us a static team It defies belief. Why doesn't he see this?

7.) 27 Sep 2015 14:00:22
What about Sahin ron? Didn't he leave because of that? Or trying to shoehorn Gerrard in dm while we had a class one in lucas in thw wings or Sterling as a striker when it was clear he could only finish once in twenty.

8.) 27 Sep 2015 17:06:31
It depends whether you class playing a midfielder who is attacking in a defensive role as being playing players out of position.

9.) 27 Sep 2015 19:47:56
Ron, can you simply prove what these posters are saying wrong with your own valid arguments instead of deflecting with placing labels on mids. The bottom line is that BR has been playing players out of position since he got here. He played Hendo at CM, WG, RM, DM since he got here and he continues to do that. Those are the facts. Can you debunk that or will you again offer senseless gibberish?

I've read all the posts about the game with interest. I'm not going to add my views on the actual game because nearly every perspective has been covered.

What i'd like to say though is that people - quite naturally, have their own views on who should and shouldn't start a particular game.

Well, I'd just like to remind people that the extensive demands of the premier league require a manager to utilize the entirety of his squad. And it seems to me that Rodgers is doing just that. And so far - doing it well.

Admittedly, if he hadn't have started Lucas last night then i too would be questioning him - as i believe this game DEMANDED Lucas play (still not sure why he took him off though - I'm assuming tiredness/injury).

Anyways, over the course of the season i think they'll all get their chance to play. I think its time for us fans to get off BR's back and support him.

If he fails - then he's out. But for now let's give him a chance.

Half-time: I'm well chuffed! Unlucky with a few. But we can play lads! Firmino, Lucas and the rest all playing well.

Balotelli to Milan confirmed. No loan fee; no obligation to buy at seasons end. We'll never get rid of him. Why is he at my club!

Coz, for some strange reason the club representative bought him at 16 mill an year ago.
He started close to 5 games through out.

The modern keeper needs many more attributes than shot-stopping.

I enjoy this site as much as the next man. I appreciate the effort you lads put in. And I'm not taking sides here, but ed01, you might perhaps consider that people have different views from you - and while you are indeed more knowledgable on matters football, there is a way to respond that might be a little more respectful.

I don't mean to cause you offence. And I know this is a mans site whence people might expect contradiction; but I hold the view that sometimes responses from eds can border on disrespectful.

Just my opinion.

Somefella

{Ed001's Note - so you think I should show respect to someone who posts a number of abusive posts aimed at other posters? Perhaps you should remember that you haven't seen the nasty sly digs he posts aimed at everyone who disagrees with him, because either myself or another editor have read them and deleted them. I will show him respect when he earns it, which he won't do until he makes a useful point instead of just making sly nasty digs at anyone who disagrees with him. As for considering that, I consider that, or people like Ron Keague and Red Since 64 would have been blocked a long time ago. I have constantly asked them to give me a reason behind their support of Brendan, but nothing has been forthcoming. I have asked for reasoned input, which Ron does provide, but Red Since does none of that. He just makes sly digs and then has the cheek to try and act all innocent. Sorry but he is in the wrong here and deserves a lot worse than he has got for his disgusting abusive nasty sly attitude and posts on here that I have had to delete.}

This truly is the greatest football site on planet earth. I think I would die without the knowledge and insightful opinions of ed0. You're a star mate. An absolute giant among men. Go, big lad!
