Hi eds,

Given that we may not sign any marquee strikers this summer, do we show an interest to sign Charlie Austin? He would be available for 10-15m and has premier league experience having scored 18 goals last season.

It just gets worse. Amazing how these owners have us thinking now. Talk about straws and clutching.

According to the eds, LFC has shown no interest in the player.

I feel as though Austin is a better natural goal scorer than Ings but Ings is a better team player and fits better in our system

He will would be fine as a squad player but we are overloaded with squad strikers. Given sturridge is like to be out for half the season we need to be targeting a number 1 striker. We have plenty than can occupy 3rd choice and beyond already.

Ings and Austin would be no more than average to decent squad players. Liverpool are really going down the wrong road here. We did it for a few years under the Glazers, buying average and it set us back a long way. Liverpool should be improving the first team, not bringing in average Joe's that will be on the bench.

Mario Gomez! Alexandre mitrovic!

We know the club is definitely in trouble when even Disney talks more sense than the people who run LFC. Too many squad players at the club, and very few deserving first team players. I feel this is another transfer window where the club will f**k up big time, because we simply do not seem to be targeting the right players. Where is the top striker the team desperately needs? Our world class transfer committee has all the time in the world to snap up average Joes like Ings and Bogdan yet no sign of chasing the top striker that would fire us into the top4. Milner is the only signing so far that makes sense, and now i hear we want some 18 year old kiddy from Charlton who happens to be another rookie CB. Might as well tell Ilori and Lloyd Jones to pack their bags and call it quits at the club.
I would not rule out the likes of West Ham (who are showing a lot of ambition and have a very good manager now) finishing above us if this incompetence at the club goes on.

We will rue the day BR dithered and screwed up the Bony deal.

Why would we want Bony? He is a static striker, we need a striker who runs in behind defenders and stretch them. I do not doubt the class of Bony but he is not what we need. Someone like Lacazette and Morata are the types of players I am alluding to.

Clearly, you've never seen Bony play.
