Costa could easily have been issued 3 straight red cards in that game (Can, Skrtel, Gerrard incidents) but I'm sure most Pool fans were disappointed when he didn't choose to play for us. He will always skirt controversy much like Suarez but his raw aggression and positioning sense makes him a great striker. something we completely lack. We also lack bite for the most part, though the 2 Chelsea games did see a little uptick in intensity. We so need a Souness/McMahon type of player who is not afraid to dish it out occasionally!

If you take the controversial side to football out of the game i.e late tackles, man and ball tackles, the niggles, nudges, do anything to win type attitude then it would spoil it as the world's greatest sport. I don't want to see broken bones but I'm from the generation where you protect yourself at all times on the pitch and the best players see stamps coming, or leading elbows and raised studs!
