Hey Ed's

I remember you saying rb leipzig have no intention to sell gvardiol this summer
So my question is I see you mentioned Evan ndicka might be one to watch for Liverpool so if signing ndicka surely that would rule out a move for gvardiol as they are both left sided centre half's . Or would ndicka be signed as a backup option and if we were to go for gvardiol in 15 months time would that be as a starter ?

{Ed002's Note - It is correct the RBL do not want to sell this summer and they have rejected a very significant offer and told both clubs they have been in discussions with a huge figure that would be required to even have a chance of doing anything this summer. Ndicka would be a good alternative for Liverpool.}

It’s so hard to find out good info cheers Ed cos if you scour the internet you can find a link to every player from Liverpool.

{Ed002's Note - I am sure you can.}

I think Liverpool’s shopping list for the summer should be

2/ 3 midfielders
A centre half
Right back ( competition for Trent) also allow young Ramsey time to settle and return from injury.

100% Dhfc. I struggle to see where the funds come from though in one window

We needed to get a midfielder last summer, another in January. And then after winning the prem this May we could’ve got Jude and a CB.

(I genuinely believe we’d have walked this league with two players, apart from the championship midfield our squad is years ahead of Arsenal, and the city drop off this season was clearly on )

But I think the transfer neglect has set us back, the shopping list you speak of would put us back up there, but I don’t think it’s possible for us in one window even if we fluked 4th.

Bradley and Ramsay should provide ample cover for Trent. Youthfull, fearless energy with minimal ego.
Morton can step into the MF squad player list too-i reckon at least one of those3 makes the grade.

I fear putting all our eggs in Bellingham’s basket has hurt us and especially if he doesn’t come . We need to get this next window 100% right.

I don’t see how we are putting all our eggs in one basket. We are linked with about 5 or. 6 new players every day

The difference with Bellingham as opposed to, say, Rabiot is that a lot of us (including me) think that Bellingham could well be ‘the real deal’.

Even if he is, there is nothing to say that he is the club’s only target or that he is even their primary target.

I’d get rid of Trent and go for young squad right back. Strangely enough I think a pretty stupid club would pay lots for TAA, possibly Chelsea or Real. Id bite their hands off for whatever they are willing to pay. Use the money to invest in the midfield. Playing with Trent at right back is pretty much the same as playing with 10 men, so it doesn’t matter who we replace him with. A cardboard cut out would do.

Imagine saying get rid of Trent.

TAA is 24. That’s pretty young from where I’m sitting :)

TAA is having his first bad season for us, mostly because of tactics, and people are already pushing for us to get rid of him. I think he still deserves a chance to get back to were he once was before we look to push him out the door.

so the way to strengthen our side is to sell our best RB and replace him with a "young squad player" - which sounds buying a weaker player so that we can spend it elsewhere in the side. you must really hate TAA to think that's a good idea particularly as we already have 2 young squad players called Ramsay and Bradley. I would say that TAA hasn't been in his best form this year but can't say i think we should sell him.

If a suitable replacement could be found and available I wouldn't be opposed to moving TAA into the CDM position that may be vacated if Fabs were to go as many have muted about. Imagine his wand of a right foot spraying balls about to the flanks from deep.

Trent is one of our best players. Whether he’s our best RB just because that’s where he has been playing is questionable though. If we had a right footed Robertson clone Trent wouldn’t get into the team at RB IMO. He’s a midfielder for me.

28 Mar 2023 16:14:47
Well, it is not TAA's first bad season, if you consider his mistakes.
I am pretty sure his mistakes lead to at least 25% of Liverpool goals conceded. It is slightly more this year, and probably there or about last year.
@dhfc, I agree with you 100%.
But we might not get that much fund.

I would 2 CM instead of 3, and get 1 to replace TAA, instead of challenging him.
TAA can be moved to mid field, so that his defence frailties are not so exposed.

15.) 28 Mar 2023
28 Mar 2023 23:38:49
Were does Bellingham compare to the midfielders tearing it up in the PL already will he be a 6 or 8 for us
With our current mf what's the best 3 with him added to the squad thaigo and fab or hendo harvey as in who does he compliment more.

16.) 29 Mar 2023
29 Mar 2023 06:33:30
Waynechai, you can't definitively prove that TAA is at fault for a quarter of our goals conceded because it is just so subjective who is at fault. Is the attacker be at fault if he lost the ball and the opposition scores? And would the midfielder be at fault for playing an intercepted pass that leads to a goal? If we twist things hard enough, we can definitely blame TAA for nearly all goals conceded while he is playing. So I don't buy that his mistakes lead to 25% of our goals conceded unless you provide solid evidence for it.

Some competition at RB would be helpful, I think Klopp should put some more faith into Ramsay and Bradley (assuming healthy) . Trent has played some of the most minutes over the last few years and that would burn out anyone.

I know it's a results oriented business, but we also demand loyalty from the players. I'm all for holding player's accountable, but I have lots of room for loving our players and sticking by them when they go through a tough patch. even if it's a full season. Trent has burst onto the scene and been at peak performance for years. He needs to be managed as he heads into his mid-20s as heads looks to sustain his career.
