Just wanted to ask ed002 a question if possible, you have said liverpool will try to resist selling Salah to Real Madrid this summer, right? If a team is trying to resist a sale of a player do teams usually still put a price on that player?

It seems Salah's agent has told Madrid Liverpool will look for 160-180 million € for Salah to sell them Salah! Is that a price that Liverpool have actually quoted anyone? or is it just his agent guessing what Liverpool will look for, sorry for asking.

{Ed002's Note - Typically clubs would not put a price on a player they wish to keep. It was of course Salah that initiated the dialogue with Real Madrid but I am not aware of what his agent has discussed in terms of money with them.}

Nostradmus can't you see the future? You should be telling edds what's going to happen.

If he wants too leave for Madrid go! as no one player bigger than the club and football is a business these days an if a player is instigating too leave after one season he is not worth a carrot and we get the big money move on, our team should not be seen as carried by one player we have had them accusations for many years with the likes of Owen, Gerard, Suarez, now all the focus is on Salah an it seems if he is kept quiet by opposition on the field we struggle too win, we need a team of players all pulling together for the same course winning, not individuals using us as a platform.

You are right hailstones, the problem this represents is every player who signs and has a similar impact (if that is even possible) will be a lot harder to keep, selling a super star after one season only kind of proves we are nothing but a stepping stone club, 'just pay the asking price and any player is yours' type of mentality will never bring any kind of success at least not the sustainable type.

Most players want to play at the highest level and make the biggest money while winning the biggest trophies. I just wish we take a different approach when signing players other than ''fulfilling the players dream moves''

If he is not for sale, then clubs asking about him should be told he is not for sale under any circumstances. Not 'he is not for sale, but he will cost you at least 160 million'

Being a stepping stone for Real Madrid and Barcelona is pretty much the status quo for all other clubs isn't it?

Except for Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Hailstones that’s 100% wrong approach IMO. I agree that no player is bigger than the club, but if he really is considering going then surely we should be doing everything we can go convince him to stay and to commit to the project we’re building. We’re way to quick to dismiss players and supporters saying ‘we’ll leave then’, we should be holding out to keep them as much as possible without holding hostage.

No No No if we sell again we have no hope of winning the premier league any time soon. We have to build not dismantle again. We have to show we are not a selling club. We have 6 or 7 top players and some decent youngsters we need to build a team around them.

Let us at least try 100% next season, get Keita in add a few and have a right go.

Sg red, mate do u not understand if a player is instigating too leave our club that is a rotten apple amongst the good ones, when a player wants too leave ultimately they leave an good riddance don't let door smack u in back of the head on way out, we are fighting too get back too top again, we cannot do that with self centered players who don't respect and care for the badge on our shirt.

You think Salah is a rotten apple then? He may potentially have asked the question of Real what their plans are but no-one on this site has any idea what his plans are. We’re a long way off the point where he should be considered a rotten apple, yet already people are saying he should leave.

Mate that’s like me looking at a beautiful girl walking by and my wife divorcing me. some perspective is required and we should be fighting to keep our best players until the moment they genuinely become a liability.

{Ed0333's Note - bravo and kudos to SGRed. I wish we had more rotten apples like Salah

You must be a nightmare to work with Hailstones. I've worked for a lot of companies so far where I have wanted to leave before I actually left. Doesn't mean I started causing problems, I worked hard for every one of them right up until the moment I left. Why would most players become a bad apple as soon as they have post-LFC plans? Sure some might, but it's hardly a universal position!

2 names Suarez and coutihno after there theatrics in wanting too leave and what lengths they went too I think the worst as soon as I read on this very site from the ed 02 Salah an his agent are flirting with Madrid, is that honestly healthy?
