Question for ed1 if I may, I was wondering how you think Sarina Weigman would get on if she were to manage a men’s premier league team?

{Ed001's Note - I have no idea, I know nothing about her.}

come sunday she will become only the second england manager in history to have a team play in the world cup final. hopefully keep the 100% winning record as well. to take charge of a team the way she has and turn them from also rans in to champions is an incredible achievement. there are few managers around, male or female that can claim to have had the impact on a team that she has had with england. we are blessed that one is our manager. and before the you can't compare her to kloop as womens football isn't as difficult comments flood in, yes i can compare her to klopp as the impact has been as great. people management and developing a team is an art weather male or female and weigman is a master of it.

There is nothing stopping a woman taking charge of a man’s team but it’s going to be tough for them.
The problem with a lot of managers who haven’t played at the top level is having a much harder time to gain players respect, both consciously and unconsciously. That would be the same case for a woman manager I feel and I feel from watching women’s football it does feel a lot different from the men’s game, a lot more counter attacking with players seeming to have a bit more space and freedom, although I’m sure if she’s good enough she could adapt.

I could never take orders from a woman. I'm not even going to watch that final.
Besides, I've a big pile of ironing to get through on Sunday morning.

Cobracraig don't think Mourinho ever played at the top level nor Wenger but they seemed to get a lot of respect from their players. Won a few things as well.
I enjoy watching the woman's game no diving and rolling about they just get up and get on with it. Puts the mens histrionics to shame.

Not entirely sure that paints you in a particular good light that Rigsby.

I reckon she could do a men's international team but the club game is very different so it's hard to say if she'd even do well in the WSL.

You have to attract players to the club and then make them want to stay. That's not an issue in internationals as almost everyone wants to play for their country.

Then you have the squad management side of it. Don't have to worry about getting everyone gametime or over working players in internationals as you have them for about 2-7 games at a time and the only aim is to win. Players aren't as fussed if they don't play much at international level because they'll go back and play regular for their club anyway.

Then you have the training and pre-season side of things. At club level you have to work on so much more in terms of fitness and technical skills whereas as an international manager you can focus primarily on tactical stuff as it's safe to assume you've picked players working with good coaches at club level.

Then finally you have the financial aspect. You don't have to get involved in transfers or contracts as an international manager.

It's a totally different job and skillset.

I think you're right, Wassa.
I shouldn't have left it all til Sunday morning but I wouldn't listen to the other half.
Anyway, there are more pressing issues than women's football and it's a big, bloody pressing issue.

I must say I try to avoid the England’s men team as much as possible but I watch the England women’s team a lot more and even though the quality is not as good the whole experience is by far superior.
And am sure if they pulled some random person of the dole queue he could do better than the w**n** in the waistcoat.

We’ll never know until it happens. And if she gets an opportunity and fails, it wouldn’t mean that it’s not possible.

The England team have been a good watch. Nice to have the World Cup in our backyard and see the people get behind it.

Southgate has done well in international tournaments.

That’s my reference - he was garbage as a club manager.

What is this nonsense, it's a Liverpool page, we don't care about England men or woman's game.

Completely different sports, it's like thinking someone can do it good in basketball because they did good in cricket.
