Happy we made it through and happier Atletico Madrid did not.

Spot on, Bill. As for Simeone, couldn't have happened to a nicer guy as well. Happy for his son, tho.

No surprises AM are out when you consider their new manager is a certain Xabi Alonso, one hopes we can be drawn against them in future CL games this season.

Looking like LFC, Napoli, man city and Real Madrid for the semis?

Mr. Bond, Xabi Alonso is the new manager at Bayer Leverkusen, not Atletico as far as I know.

Hello OliRed, Thank you for pointing out my "elementary" mistake that indeed Xabi manages BL and not AM. Yesterday was the last Wednesday in the Month, which means for me meeting up with my old work colleagues in Liverpool town centre for obviously too many scoops! but no defence on my part as you should re-read ye post before submitting "Thank You OliRed".

Have you guys seen the highlights? Atletico Madrid (AM) were awarded a penalty (didn't think it was personally) AFTER the full time whistle. The penalty was saved and the rebound from a AM player hit the bar and bounced back to ANOTHER AM player who's strike was going in until it hit Carrasco (who missed the penalty) and went over the bar.

Football!
