ed001 watching yesterdays game one thing I would say we lose so much of are pressing when Henderson plays the deeper role. I think when Thiago comes back I would love to see Gini play the deeper role And free up Henderson and Thiago. With Gini playing within so much I think he would suit the role more than the other 2 midfield roles further forward that is when Fabinho is not playing there what's your thoughts ed.

{Ed001's Note - Gini played pretty well yesterday, the issue was Jones, much as I love him, he just does not have the physicality to press with the intensity required. He is too slow to close down and that is something he needs to learn quickly.}

am not pointing to Gini yesterday ed I just think Henderson and Gini swapping would be a good move with Thiago in there as well because none of are midfielders press like Hendo and brings extra drive in there or would you keep Hendo back and play Gini and Thiago pushing forward more.
cheers ed have a good weekend.

{Ed001's Note - Henderson is better than Gini in the deeper role.}

Agree I thought Gini had a good game yesterday. Doesn’t Thiago prefer that role where he can play the deep playmaker role.

I must admit when I watched the match yesterday and saw Jones jogging around in midfield I thought of Paul Pogba, and how he sometimes moves.

I thought Jones looked a bit leggy, as well Ed01. He is still young and will have to fill out a bit more to cope with the physical demands of playing the press in the Klopp system.

One of our strengths is the press but it’s pretty hard to press a team that has 27% possession. Up until the substitutions of Jota and Shaq I think we only had 2 shots and 1 of them was the penalty. With the last 20 mins of the game we then proceeded to have a further 6-7 shots.

Gini played very well yesterday but his passing slows us down at times

That for me will always be his biggest flaw Henderson used to be overly safe aswell but has since changed and I think it was Southampton 2 seasons ago of the bench Henderson became the player he is right now.

Shaq has actually worked hard (for a change) in the Champions league game. And although he didn't have a perfect game against the Danish side, a hard working Shaq is someone who cannot be totally ignored. He has that pass or little bit of magic that can make the difference in some games. Not saying he is a starter or something, but definitely brings in quality from the bench. I think all our buys will be influential for us going forward. Tsimikas will give the much needed break to Robbo without compromising much on quality. While I don't not even the most pessimistic of Liverpool fans should have any doubt on Thiago and Jota being a success :)
