Eds what do you make of Benteke comments today were he has said the coach wanted him at BVB but now he ignores me. He also said that in Jan he wanted to fight for his place but will now see what happens at end of season.

Sound to you that he knows he is going to be sold in summer?

{Ed002's Note - After the embarressing actions of Klopp at the weekend I expect he will leave, but the club will need his agent to start working on iy soon.}

Cheers for reply mate, its clear Klopp doesn't want him really. let's see what happens.

What was embarrassing about it Ed? I feel like 20 years ago a player would use that as motivation. I realize this isn't 20 years ago but still.

{Ed002's Note - It was unprofessional and not something to be done in public.}

20 years ago you didn't have cameras from almost every country in the world at the game, watching every move that is made. I agree with Ed2 unprofessional and embarrassing.

to sum it all up re bentenke is simple, he joined Liverpool having been bought by Brendan rogers who no doubt told him he would be a regular starter, then Rodgers got sacked the guy replacing Rodgers which was klopp did not fancy him, benteke had the chance through his own performances to change klopps mind, he has not taken that chance and is now surplus to requirements, the public rebuking he got was the final straw, hence todays statements from big ben, end result in a manager vs players situation, the manager always wins therefore bentenke will be leaving Liverpool fc, david Sullivan sensing that Liverpool could be looking to sell is declaring his admiration for the player as long as the price is right for west ham, although they have other targets in mind first. Another expensive flop we shall be losing money on.

I know the eds have different views on this but I have to say that being dressed down in public is unnecessary and in my opinion it should never happen be it at Liverpool football club and its playing staff or employees down your local tescos. There is constructive criticism then there is that.

{Ed001's Note - so what do you recommend then? When you consider he has been given private dressing downs and ignored them and the option to take further action privately is not available to the manager of a football club due to the contracts these molly coddled blerts are on. Personally I think it is about time more of them got reminded of their duty to us.}

What embarrassing actions were these? :)

Bent eke has been given plenty of chance in my opinion. But 8 goals in 32 games for a striker that cost 32 mil is a pretty poor return.

Origi has been as effective if not more than benteke. "Ignored" is the wrong word, "unimpressed" is probably a more apt description.

Ed001 is bang on - Klopp clearly has had enough and he's had chances remember. Read Benteke's interview today and it's clear he's not got the attitude, let alone the aptitude, to develop his 'style'. Problem is he's not ineffective, he 100% 'effects' the team negatively when he plays. I said stand behind him, he's a Liverpool player after all, after reading his whinging comments? Not so much.

Hes played 580 minutes under Klopp and done nothing. He says he can press and do what Klopp asks, but instead either makes the wrong moves backwards or stays still like a tree. Benteke only has himself too blame.

How many young people today respond to being dressed down especially in a public setting though ed? I'm in the army where points have to be reinforced in an aggressive manner but your as likely to get a complaint as you are a positive reaction nowadays.

{Ed001's Note - then they are not mentally strong enough to be much good when the pressure hits in big games. That is why you weed them out now.}

I would say klopps done no wrong. Us fans boo slate and shout stuff to players all the time because we are PASSIONATE, klopp has had enough of people not putting in a proper shift or Not doing as told and has lost it. I for one back him all the way and anyone who doesn't pull that shirt on and give it there all leave.

I kinda agree with Ed001, I've worked as a chef in michellin starred kitchens for nearly a decade, I've been more than dressed down in my time, pans thrown at me dragged across the room by my apron, it never broke me. yeah it made me feel crappy, but every time i came back wanting to fight harder smarter and always with a smile.

i tend to agree wit the 'weed um out' mentality, but even looking at the younger chefs nowdays, you're going to get guys and girls crying complaining and quitting which causes a whole host of problems.

are people getting softer?

13.) 23 Mar 2016
23 Mar 2016 18:06:18
Yes they are softer and in all walks of life, everyone knows their rights the older generation had thick skin and the one before thicker still but things are pink and fluffy in many ways now and we have to move with the times.

Tell you what. At 26 years of age and a established premier league player. If he can't do what is being asked of him and he's going to cry like a baby. Good riddance. Sturridge got slated by Klopp and Gerrard. Had his say. Said no more and does what he's asked to do. Give Danny Ings full fitness and you watch that less established player put more in to his 1st game than Benteke has all season.

For £120,000 a week who wouldn't run there heart out for 90 mins twice a week and to do for it the best club in the world.

24 Mar 2016 00:24:45
This is totally in line with what Souness was saying recently. Players assume absolutely no responsibility for their performances these days. I can't believe Benteke can say that he's an effective presser and mover. If he was, then he'd be in the team every week. Klopp isn't an idiot, and is not trying to be mean to Benteke. He knows a good presser and mover when he sees one, and if he isn't convinced by Benteke's ability to do that then I believe Klopp is right.

16.) 24 Mar 2016
24 Mar 2016 05:46:19
the least he could do is accept responsibility for his own actions, its meant to be a mans game, time for him to man up.

This happens in football and real life, get over it and move on! It’s embarrassing, nobody has died for Christ sake. I’m sure he will wipe his tears with the £140k a week he is making. Boo Hoo.
