hi ed's

Do you know if we have any interest in either James Ward-Prowse or James Maddison?

Both could be reliable midfield squad players, home grown and Ward-Prowse is useful at set pieces.

{Ed002's Note - No Liverpool have shown no interest in either.}

No thanks, Ward Prowse is pretty much nothing be dead ball ability. Maddison wouldn't offer what we need from a midfielder, too attack minded.

I think the main issue this season has been we have too many "squad players" in midfield and not enough who have the quality to start regularly. What's the point of hampering the development of young players like Elliott, Carvalho, Bajcetic and Morton by sticking a 28 year old JWP in the way? "Put your money on the pitch", as Alex Ferguson used to say.

JWP is 28?!?! bloody hell where has the time gone, I thought he was like 23/ 24.

One of those ever-young players in the eyes of the media Lamborini like Lingard, Loftus-Cheek, Winks, Maitland-Niles and now Nketiah.

Lamborini, “too attack minded”. You do realise our goals return from our midfielders are beyond a joke. It’s a position we’ve sorely missed for years.

That's true, Iggy, but we need legs (engine) and steel more right now for whatever money we may have available for players. Maddison would be a great attacking midfielder for us in my opinion but he'd be quite expensive and we got other pressing priorities.

I don't think you can put Ward Prowse and Maddison in the same sentence. Ward Prowse is a nothing bottom half midfielder who can strike a good free kick. Maddison is a player who has always had the talent to go to the very top, but struggled for consistency and overall influence in games until now (similar story with Rashford) .

{Ed001's Note - Maddison is nothing like Rashford. Rashford never missed training because he was too drunk from the night before to make it in. And then do it again and again.}

I wouldn't want Maddison anywhere near Liverpool. He may have the ability but he's a poor professional. I can't ever see him working out in a Klopp midfield. Or just working in general. His own poor form is of his own making.

I'm not sure about Rashford but he seems like a good professional. Keeps his head down, works hard, and advocates for societal good. His form may have suffered before this season but I think that's more because I'd the ineptitude of the previous it's manager than anything else.
