Hey Ed's Might be a slightly ridiculous question, but I'd love your thoughts. I was very impressed with Slot last year, particularly with his in game tactical adjustments. However, this season has been disappointing. Beyond the results, his gameplay and overall management have looked poor at times, and it seems there may be some issues behind the scenes. I had been a strong supporter of him, but my view has recently changed, and I now think a change may be needed.
From reading posts, it seems likely he will stay until the summer, with potential managerial and board changes then. That said, if Liverpool were to finish in the top four (well off first or second place) but win either the FA Cup or Champions League, do you think the board would give him more time? Cheers.
{Ed001's Note - the Champions League, yes, but I am not convinced the FA Cup would be enough.}

Ed1 - do you know if Slot is aware that he may be moved on in the summer?
{Ed001's Note - he will know that his employment is based on performance, so yes. But he will go into every season knowing that it could easily be his last.}

There was a time when we would have been delighted with a haul of a Premier League and FA Cup in 2 seasons. Standards have got so high at our beloved club.

Ed1 - sorry mate, I figured my question had an obvious answer as soon as I hit send lol I know managers would have an inherent assumption their performances harm or hurt their job security.
What I meant was whether you know if the club are being transparent with Slot about wanting Alonso, waiting until summer etc. would they set a performance target for Slot to reach etc.
{Ed001's Note - no worries mate. Slot was given targets at the start of the season, if he achieves them then he keeps his job.}

@florian: have the stands got so high or is the competition pants? I think it's the latter myself like.

Thanks ed1. All the noise from the club is the usual pragmatism about long term vision etc, which to be fair, I like about us. What you Rekon the targets are and would they reassess as the season progresses, depending on context etc.
{Ed001's Note - they will be a minimum top 4 finish plus getting out of the league stage of the Champions League. The two domestic cups are not prioritised by the club sadly, which is why managers pretty much sack them off usually. However this season Slot is taking the FA Cup seriously as it is his best chance of silverware this year and it would allow him to get away with finishing a place or two lower in the Prem if he gets the club a trophy. The club do not prioritise them, but they do understand the value they bring to its 'brand'. Much as I dislike this kind of thinking, I do agree that trophies should matter as the club was always aimed at being a winner. And being better than Everton. It was set up with the main aim being of being better than Everton as Houlding was angry with the way they messed him about.}
