Question for Eds What's going on with the Konate situation? Are we now content to let him go on a free? I heard we were going to sell in winter if he hadn't. Unless injuries have played a part of he's close to agreeing? Thanks.

Ed, or we could buy a replacement and let him go for a fee, especially if he is definitely going in the summer. If we buy someone of the same standard as Konate, it won't cost much.

Do you think he is definitely leaving in the summer Ed? There doesn't seem to be a long list of clubs battling for his signature so do you think that there is any chance of him dropping his demands and signing a new contract or has that ship sailed now?

No choice Ed001? Why can't we pay to bring in Guehi, as we were going to do initially. We need cover at CB now, one injury and we're putting makeshift CB's in. LFC shouldn't be in that situation. ?.

Out of interest ed what would the cost of missing out of champions league cost the club?

{Ed001's Note - there is not a simple answer, as you are not just losing prize money (which this season is 18m per team just for getting into the competition) but also sponsorship revenue, as sponsors pay extra for the exposure. There is also the lowering of income from less match days and there is potential prize money for each match and qualification through the rounds. But you are losing tens of millions.}

I remember the days of him going to RM or PSG and it was outrageous that we would allow him to leave on a free. We were also outraged at bidding for Guehi because RM and PSG didn't show an interest in the likes of him. How things change, eh?

Why would Palace want Konat. If they move Guehi on surely they will need a defender. OP, there was an interview with Ratcliffe in the summer and he reckoned the projected loss to United in not reaching the CL was in the region of 100m, can't remember if that was £ or €. Either way, a hefty sum.

I read in an article somewhere missing out CL is a 50-75 mil dent in revenues (assuming we make it past the group stage - or whatever its called nowadays) )
