Kolo Toure has told Sport Ivoire that he turned down the chance to join Trabzonspor: "I have expressed my pleasure at being a LFC player."
"I am a competitor & I decided to stay at Liverpool. However, the situation can change at any time but I'm here.". looks like he's staying.

I think a lot of people don't realise that Reus's release clause can only be activated next year. And we really don't need another attacking midfielder/winger/wide forward/winger. What we need is an "A Grade" striker as currently we only have one in Sturridge. Lambert is a good player but if something were to happen to Sturridge, we're in real trouble!
Ballotelli or Falcao on loan would be fantastic. Cavani on a permanent transfer even better in my opinion. But Huntelaar could also mean a shrewd buy.
If not the above mentioned 4 my 5th choice would be Bony.

Any further updates on Agger, Illori (Loan), Coates, Assaidi, Borini, Robinson, Yesil and Lucas? I'd be surprised either of these players is in Liverpool come 2nd September.

With Moreno deal now sealed and Kelly off to Crystal Palace, our full back contingent looks strong.
With with CB's Sakho, Lovren and Skrtel look almost certain to stay. Toure to Turkey most likely looks like a done deal.
That leave us with Agger, Illori and Coates.
Surely we need 4 CB's (3 is too little and 5 too many).
All this transfer season there have been rumors (many of them from credible sources) about Agger leaving and Illori being loaned out. Also I can't see Agger staying on only as a 4th choice CB.
Could that mean Coates is going to be given a chance? He was in the Uruguay WC squad and played for a decent amount of time in friendlies. And let's not forget when King Kenny signed him in 2011 he was one of the best young defenders and still is only 23.

Firstly a big Welcome to Lovren. A good signing which will definitely improve the squad.
Now my main question: we have now Agger, Sakho, Skrtel, Toure, Illori, Coates and Lovren. That's 7 central defenders. Surely that's too many. As they say too many cooks spoil the broth! We surely need to sell minimum 2 or maybe even 3 CB's. Any idea who are most likely to leave? And where?
