Long time reader first time posting. As much as it pains me to say as I believe Coutinho is world class, if he wants to leave we won't keep him too long. But if RB Leipzig and Southampton can hold on to players who want to leave to come to us we would be showing weakness by giving him away without fighting tooth and nail to keep him.

The way I see it he had no buyout clause and a 5 year contract and in the current climate (where we are being quoted £50m-£70m for a defender, mbappe who has had half a good season is £100m+, Barcelona have just received £200m for a player. ) They need to either pay up or shut up Coutinho is got to be worth £130m+ and they are low balling as they always do. They expect top dollar for their players but always try and low ball other clubs. If Liverpool are seriously wanting to challenge they either need to stand their ground or tell Barcelona £130m+ or no deal then they need to pump that money straight back in.
