Ed's, back in Jan we were linked with a young French defender, I think he was from Valencienne.

I can't recall his name but I do remember some positive thoughts from the ed's on his potential. Can any of you remember the guy and was there any follow up this window? {Ed002's Note - Nicolas Isimat-Mirin and he has moved to Monaco. I don't want to open it up again but you can look up the truth about the links to L:iverpool in the archive.}

Well we're 3 points better off from the same fixture as last season and that would have won us the league. Happy days Reds and that's without Suarez too!

Whoever got the "back to top" button on the mobile site so quickly. Thanks!

{Ed001's Note - Ed033 did it, was it you that requested it? Thanks if so, it was something we never even considered or thought of.}

Lavezzi Rojo & Medel

If we got those three we would have had the best transfer window ever and a serious chance at winning the league.

Every problem area sorted and gives our wide forwards like Ibe and Markovic 2 or 3 years to progress before having to replace Lavezzi.

A guy has just got through telling me about LFC interest in Erik Durm and Stefan De Vrij. Says he works with a European management agency so worth sharing at least.
Was surprised Durm didn't get minutes at RB when germany lost Mustafi but I guess Lahm is quite good cover! ;-) anyone else heard similar?

Just in case you missed it. Jordan Ibe has joined Birmingham on loan for the rest of the season.

I'm sure it's probably a good long term move for the lad but I'd much prefer to see him getting some game time with us. Pre-season he looked better than Sterling but he's had only 2 opportunities to translate that into proper progress with the 1st team so far which I think is a waste considering he's fighting with Moses for a place and we were desperate to sign a player in that position a month ago.

Good luck lad! I've got every faith you'll set the championship alight in the next couple of months and prove everyone right about your potential, come back stronger and wiser them smash it for us next season!

I heard last week he was injured and not available for either warm up at the weekend, then read about his new baby. No idea why he hadnt played in Asia though after Rodgers explicitly saying at the start of pre-season this was his year to step up.

Best result from now would be

Lacazette, he really should be the absolute number 1 priority. He's the real deal. If we're looking at 30+ million for Benteke we're crazy, I'm confident that kind of fee could get Lacazette and he is so so so much better for us than Benteke. We need to replace the defending from the front attitude we had with the relentless pressure of Suarez as well as some of his eye for goal.

If we get him, then we can focus on a Mascherano, Medel, Fernandinho, Matic, Khadira type quality defensive midfielder. Lucas can't be relied upon for a whole season and we don't have someone who protects our defense, haven't for years, hence why our centre backs so often look utterly exposed. Gerrard never was the answer there but if we sort that then I'm sure our defenders will look much more solid if they're not so disjointed from the rest of the team.

A goalkeeper. Lloris, Ter Stegan, ?? someone that inspires the defenders from behind the line as well as the defensive mid protects in-front and that can allow us to play a higher line, press further up the pitch.

In that order and only once the primary need has been addressed should we spend the kitty on the secondary and tertiary objectives so we don't end up short of funds again and come up a couple of mil short on Lacazzette.
