Chelsea fan coming in peace. I personally feel you guys aren't very far off being a very good team (look at your great run this year). You guys are at your best when you're pressing the other team deep into their side of the pitch. I think one big thing holding you back is that Rodgers tries to fit the likes of Skrtel (who prevents you guys from playing a high line) and Gerrard (who would only be successful in a role where he doesn't need to cover much ground). The Sterling situation is what it is but if you do sell you need to replace him properly. Your biggest need is a top class striker, speaking from personal experience with Sturridge counting on him for more than half a season is dangerous. Overall I think your problem is far more about the system than the players in the system.

Yeah if Rodgers had the football brain to change formation and tactics more to suit what's in front of us we would be pushing you for the league with a bit of luck.
When Rodgers gets his tactics right we are unbeatable, the problem is he sticks with them tactics until nobody fears you anymore, if he mixed it up on a game by game basis it would keep the opposition guessing and give them no chance of setting up against us.
Plus like you say he puts far too much faith in skrtle and Gerrard, he spent the best part of £40m on lovren and sakho, the least you could do is play them together in a run of games.

T.k thanks for your inpu there, nice to see fans from another club can make nice comments about other teams. I think you are right in both Skertl and a striker. Personally I think liverpool should have got Scott Dann and Gary Cahill when we had the chance. I think they would have been a good centre back combo for many years.
Suarez was a gem of a player when he was only focused on his game and not eating people. We need that energy again. Sturridge is great when he is injury free and has a player to help him up top. I do not think anyone would have guessed Ballotelli would score so little and letting Remy go was a joke. I think Benteke would be good for us, big, strong and powerful(like Drogba).
